I ordered this for a friend who had a hard time reading regular print bibles. She loves it because it is the most beautiful Bible she has ever owned. The type-face is very easy for her to read and the study features provide her with a great deal of inspiration and understanding of the Word that goes beyond just reading of the text.

The NIV version is very accessible and understandable to people in this day-in-age. You don't have to feel like you lived in the times of King James to understand what the message is and how it applies to your life.

Maybe it seems shallow but a book as profound as the Bible should be "packaged" in a binding that will last forever and provide the reader with as much tactile pleasure and comfort as the message of the written word provides.

This particular Bible provides the Word of God in a package that it is worthy of the message. It is to be treasured and passed down to the next generation complete with your notes and annotations so that it can continue to provide comfort to your loved ones when you aren't available to provide them with the perspective directly.

I had this Bible a few years ago when it was stolen. I just now have enough money to purchase another one. If you truly want to find answers to your everyday dilemma's this is the Bible to buy. I even had to ask my brother, who's never read a Bible before if I could have it back.
When I was in the lowest point in my life and hadn't read a Bible since I was a kid, have I found one that relates to everyday situations. I've gotten my other brother to want to purhcase one. P.S. I purchased the leather bound updated edition (2005) w/large print. LOVE'N IT!! It's such an easy read. If you don't understand the, "these,thou,thou art etc. (KJV, King James Version) purchase the (NIV, New Internation Version) much easier to read and understand. The additiional great thing is that it's FREE shippng and the price has dropped by $3.00 since I purchased it 1 month ago.

The bible has made such a difference in my study of God's Word. When I need some clarification on a verse, the information is right there for me. I don't have to go to other sources. With the bible study I am involved with now, I spend several hours reading and studying, so the large print is especially helpful. I'm also glad I decided to get the leather bound version, which will hold up better over time. Two friends recommended this bible to me and I am so thankful they did. Because of its size, it is not a bible I would want to carry around, however.

This is a good Bible. NIV and has very good concordance and explanations of the scriptures. Of course the explanations are pretty important - and these authors seem to be of the Baptist ilk. I would recommend this to anyone who is studying the Word.

The Bible is well bound and cover should last a long while. I was a bit disappointed that the "Large Type' was NOT very large. The item was received promptly and i am satisfied with the purchase.

This study bible is great! Nice large print for easy reading. Nice assortment of study aides within it. Wonderfully put together. Worthy of the Zondervan name. My only complaint, but not really a complaint... it is heavy. It only makes sense that its heavy due to the large print, great craftsmanship, and wide variety of study information in it. Just don't expect to carry this bible around. Purchase a small version for travel. Overall very pleased with this purchase!

So far, I have ordered 5 of these Bibles; one for myself and the other 4 as gifts. The commentary included with the scripture makes the Bible so much easier to understand. This Bible is perfect for the old and young alike! Such a joy to read!

I liked this Bible so much I bought two more to give as gifts. I plan to buy one more. It is so well done and the study part is such a great help. I read mine each day and it is NIV version which I wanted. I like the way it has beginning pages for each book which explains who, what and when. Just a great Bible.

Now I can see what I'am trying to read. Love it except no red print; thus one less star. Very glad I bought it.

Got this for my wife because of the large print. Cover is very sturdy and print is big enough not to have to use 1.5 reading glasses. Very nice bible and my wife knows her bibles. You will not be disappointed.
