1.0 out of 5 stars Required for a class, May 25, 2001
By A Customer

I took an Access Programming class at CVTC in Wisconsin and was required to buy this as a textbook. The instructor eventually admitted that this was a poor textbook and was unable to teach from it. They did not use the text for the class the next semester so I am stuck with it. I wasted my money on the class and the textbook. At one point our instructor gave of 3 pages of corrections for the book that she downloaded from the website.

2.0 out of 5 stars Nice in concept ...., February 18, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Applications Development in Microsoft Access 2000 (New Perspectives (Course Technology Paperback)) (Paperback)
I had to purchase this book for a class at Lansing Community College, and have had nothing but problems. The examples are unclear and overly wordy. The number of typo's and other errors in this book are unforgivable, and it appears to have been rushed to publication.

It would have been a nice addition to see some kind of hints given for the end of chapter exercises, and the number of records you would find in a properly created query, especially since later exercises build off a query from Chap 2.

If you have to use this book for a class, you may want to buy another book as an additional reference.

This book is required for a database class in the Business School at UMD. Unless you're required to buy it, stay away! This book is ridden with typos, poor style, and stupid examples. This book was obviously rushed to market in the hopes that it would be required material for DB classes.
