Dr. Weiner's guide on environmental chemistry is a "must have" for consulting engineers of almost any discipline if for no other reason than it is a quick read and a good reference that can help the practicing professional be an expert as well as sound like an expert.

I appreciate his presentation of principles and theories in simplified form so that, when necessary, I can think things through, based on fundamentals. His rules are just what a practicing consulting engineer needs when dealing with new problems in the field where quick estimates are needed.

It is obvious that Dr. Weiner has combined long years of experience as a chemistry professor from a good university with many years as an active water quality consultant, because he knows what professionals need to know and he knows how to explain it in a down-to-earth manner.

What also is evident is that Dr. Weiner served on the Colorado State Regulators Board because he is able to explain what regulators usually inquire about. His eight years on the Colorado Water Quality Commission paid off for all of us grateful readers!
