Geoff Berresford received his Ph.D. from the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University in 1975. He has taught at the State University of New York at Purchase and for many years has been at the C.W. Post campus of Long Island University. Besides the four textbooks with Andy Rockett, he has published papers in differential equations, linear programming, logic, and probability (his favorite area), including curriculum materials for COMAP (Consortium for Mathematics and Its Applications).
While Andy Rockett completed his Ph.D. thesis at SUNY Stony Brook, he taught as an adjunct at nearby Suffolk County Community College. After receiving his degree in 1977, he joined the mathematics faculty at C.W. Post and began his collaborations with Geoff Berresford. His book with Peter Szusz on "Continued Fractions" (1992) was hailed by Ivan Niven as "an outstanding addition to the literature of mathematics," and he served the Kappa Mu Epsilon mathematics honor society as editor of the mathematics journal "The Pentagon" from 1989 to 1995.

Does not work with kindle fire,
This review is from: Applied Calculus, Brief (Kindle Edition)
What is the point of calling it a kindle edition if it does not work on the kindle fire?! Its a kindle! I got very excited because I could save loads of money but it doesn't work on the fire tablet. Now I have to spend over 150 bucks for this book. Thanks

Practical Formulas for Real Life,

This review is from: Brief Applied Calculus, Fourth Edition (Hardcover)
I had never purchased a brief of anything. The book is a concise edition of what the regular text offers and goes straight into practical applications with already modeled formulas pertaining to several subjects of interest.
My advise is don't waste your time in what won't return something for you. Yes, this is my advice, except in applied math. Learn all you can about math and how it works, and you'll make more sooner than later an outstanding presence in your professional life using this wonderful tool of the mind.
