Product Description

Neodymium magnets are the world's strongest magnets. Magnets Are Not Toys! Applied Magnets offers the highest quality Neodymium magnets with consistent performance and lowest price. Our Neodymium magnets are designed and manufactured to meet stringent quality standards using the latest technology. Neodymium magnets (also known as Neo, NdFeB, NIB or Super Magnets), a type of rare earth magnets, are the permanent magnets made from Neodymium, Iron, Boron and other minor elements. Strong Neodymium Magnets N42, stronger than N40, N38 and N35. BrMax: 13200 gauss. Nickel-Copper-Nickel triple layer coated for maximum Neodymium magnets durability and protection against corrosion.

Disclaimer:
- Applied Magnets neither assumes nor accepts any liability for damages resulting from the handling or use. With your purchase, you confirm that you have read and understood the following warnings; the buyer agrees that he/she is responsible for all damages and injuries caused by the magnets, which include personal injuries, property damages and magnet damages. The buyer must agree with the terms before purchase. Pull force we provided is estimate only. We are not responsible for any inaccuracy of magnet pull force. (Please test the pull force before any usage.) Neodymium magnets are very, very strong.
- Neodymium magnets are brittle; they can be broken or can splinter in a collision. One should wear gloves and protective glasses when handling these magnets, because splinters and/or spacers could disengage and fly from the magnets. (This is true with all Magnets)
- The strong magnetic fields of Neodymium magnets can damage pace-makers or other bodily implants, keep a minimum of 3 feet distance.
- Children should not be allowed to handle Neodymium magnets as they can be dangerous. Small magnets pose a choking hazard and should never be swallowed or inserted into any part of the body.

These magnets are ridiculous strong. I can't see why anyone would complain about them. They are seriously the strongest magnets I've ever had my hands on. And, you can't beat the price. One of these magnets is as strong as some of the magnets on my refrigerator that are 5x+ the size of these. One of them will easily hold 4-5 sheets of construction paper up on my fridge. I bought them to make magnetic spice jars with. I attached three of them on top of baby food jars using two part epoxy. The jars range in size from 2-6 oz. Completely full, they hold full 6 oz. jars on my refrigerator without sliding at all.

As for chipping...anyone that knows anything about Neodymium magnets knows they are fragile. And these things are seriously strong. So strong that they will fly at each other from crazy long distances. This is a lot of fun, but not advisable because the force is strong enough to chip them when they collide. Just know this before you start getting crazy with them. I only had one out of the 100 chip. This is just the nature of the beast. The seller is very up front about this in their half page sheet of warnings that accompany the magnets.

Separating them is difficult. Is that a negative? I don't think so! That just means they are doing their job. With a little practice, you get the hang of sliding one off the top of the stack using your thumbnail and squeezing it between your thumb and forefinger.

They came packaged very well. They were wrapped in bubble wrap and placed into a clear plastic tube, then shipped in a padded envelope. About as good as it could get.

I highly recommend these! Do not hesitate to buy!

These are SMALL powerhouses, so small that i end up losing more than i use, and powerful enough to take the place of lid catches. I see several folks comment on size not being what was expected? The size IS as advertised, i.e. 0.25" x 0.125". If you looking for a good refrigerator magnet you might want something larger and easier to handle, also you probably do not need a Neodymium (rare earth) magnet (cheaper alternatives). I make small wooden boxes and use these to hold the lids in place. I drill a 1/4x1/16 hole in the top and side along the same axis (approximately) and glue (epoxy or polyurethane) two magnets one directly above the other. I find the epoxy bonds better but the polyurethane (gorilla glue) is more convenient, it's a good idea to remove (any non-soap degreaser) any surface oils for best bond.

I have used, and will buy again, BYKES 30 Neodymium Magnets Strong Magnets Refrigerator Magnets Super Strong Rare Earth Magnets - Perfect for Metal Collar Stays - 1/4 x 1/16 inch Disc N48(#1), Applied Magnets ® 100 Rare Earth Neodymium Magnets 1/4" X 1/16" Discs(#2), and Set of 100 Grade N42 Super Strong Neodymium Disc Magnets 1/4" X 1/16"(#3) so here is my take on the difference:

#1's have a slightly better nickel finish, stronger, less damage as delivered (chip out), seem tougher (less prone to chipping), BUT are more expensive at 2X the price per unit.

They hold quite well, stick well to epoxy. I've only broken 1, although I know many more have chipped (I can see shaving stuck to/between a lot of the magnets, but can't see the holes). Overall, very worth the price if you need something really short.

If you aren't sure about the size, the whole stick of 100 is about the length of a pencil and has a thickness between a toothpick and a regular pencil.

They are small magnets, just like the webpage says. No different from any other neodymium magnets. The magnets are definitely strong for their size, but don't excpect them to hold too much weight. However, if you are looking 1/4" neodymium magnets, these work great.

They're cheap. They're magnets. They stick to each other like their lives depended on it. What more could you want?

I'm using them in a bit of an odd way. I have a whiteboard with a metal back but no "ledge" for holding the markers. I tape one to each of my whiteboard markers so that I can hang the marker on the board. I also taped two to a whiteboard eraser and it sticks too! I'll probably glue them in the future, as they're so cheap they're pretty much disposable.

Oh, and I also use them for play when I need mindless passtime. ;-)

I recommend this item and seller!

Decided to make bottle cap magnets. These were easy to separate if you slid the top one off with your thumb nail. I had absolutely no problem with any of them breaking or chipping. These things are small but powerful. Don't let their size fool you.

I ordered these magnets with hopes that they might serve as clasps for some small wooden boxes as well as some little wallet/coinpurses I've been making. I expected that I might have to use several magnets on each item in order to get a strong enough pull - but in nearly every case a single pair was totally sufficient!
