5.0 out of 5 stars nice coverage of nonparametrics and resampling, March 26, 2008
This review is from: Applied Nonparametric Statistical Methods, Fourth Edition (Chapman & Hall/CRC Texts in Statistical Science) (Hardcover)
Peter Sprent is an excellent statistician and also a very good writer. In addition to theis book he has written a book on resampling methods which also fall into the broad category of nonparametric statistics. Although this book is not as thorough as other books such as Hollander and Wolfe and not quite as good as William Conover's book regarding applications it does provide a good mix of methods and applications and is well-organized and well-presented. I also appreciate the inclusion of modern resampling methods which are not always covered in nonparametric texts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent text and reference, February 10, 2010

I am using this text for a graduate statistics class. It is easy to read, but does assume that one has basic statistics training preceding its use. Great examples and worked exercises!
