At first I was surprised to see that this book is still available, but why shouldn't it be? It is by far the best reference book on the basic principles of solar energy I ever found. I still have my original copy.

Simple and concise, it was indispensable when I lived in AZ and worked at the largest solar manufacturer in the southwest, over 25 years ago. That was before very many special materials were available and we had to make due with off the shelf adaptations to prove the viability of our products.

Yes, I consulted with the top scientists at labs and universities around the country for the latest developments in optics, but the fundamental applications are all contained in this book. All that is left is to improve efficiency.

What a helpful legacy for our little planet, from the imaging team leader for the Voyager spacecraft that have already exited the solar system.

I only hope the price of fossil fuels remains high, so that the alternative energy industries are not still-born once again, as they have been so many times in the past.
