Great entry-level text. It walks you through the basics of sampling, buffers, and analysis, but it doesn't go into great depth. Good read if you're just entering the field.

Decent explanations of basic concepts but doesn't contain anything I couldn't find on the internet for free. Could be much better in explaining cepstrum and the various analytic techniques in matlab code. The book feels incomplete for someone looking to gain a complete working knowledge of speech & audio processing in matlab.

I have owned the 'Applied Speech and Audio Processing' text for a while now. I have been impressed by the wealth of information it contains, and the concise manner in which the information is presented. The MATLAB examples provide a way to easily begin exploring the concepts that it is teaching. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is studying speech/audio/signal processing.
