I'm using this for my undergraduate statistics class. First of all, the book explains some concepts well and the others very poorly. The practice problems will not follow the examples very well. It's not a matter of applying it to a harder problem; it is guessing the process for the problem. The publisher does not distinguish whether you get the WileyPlus code. I had to buy the code after buying a new book because the new books do not necessarily have the correct code. They have a code for a "partner site." Not only does the book have errors but also WileyPlus has a superfluous number of them. As a student, it is really frustrating to do the problem twice (once with the book numbers and once with the Wiley numbers to check myself) and still have it marked as incorrect. If you must use this book and WileyPlus, be prepared for hours of frustration.

This book is not recommended for self study or distance courses. There are only sporadic answers to odd problems, most books of this type have answers for every odd problem. The student solution manual is even more worthless, some chapters have only 2 or 3 worked problems per chapter. Learning statistics with this book in a distance education course is really more painful than it should be. If you have to get this book, do not waste your money on the student solution manual.

This book may be a good reference to someone who already knows statistics, but to someone learning, especially without the benefit of lectures, the description and examples are way too sparse.

This is a terrible textbook. The explanations are way too abstract. The authors fail to give clear explanations on so many topics. The section on Central Limit Theorem made my head spin like crazy. The explanations make very little sense. It's as if the authors rushed when they wrote this textbook. The book is extremely wordy and very few sample problems are given. The explanations are some of the most confusing I've ever seen. I have never come across a more frustrating book than this one. The jargon they use in this textbook is insane. It is way too hard to learn anything from this textbook on your own. It is definitely not worth $122.51. I would not recommend.

Bcz it is my textbook, so I read it carefully. And I found that there are some mistakes here. When u learn this subject. U always have to check the value from the tables and charts in the back of the book. And u must check it carefully, bcz the text will miss leading you sometimes. Just take the equation 9-25 as an example, you should check the charts VIIG and VIIH, but not the VIG and VIH. Beside this kind of misstake, everything is fine

for a college level statistics class, it is helpful in that it goes into detail of certain basic statistic concepts. it is just a little overpriced since it doesnt cover alot of more advanced material, and at times i needed to supplement it to understand things

Perfect condition! (but no cd included in the cd sleeve - can't remember if the description said this would be included or not - that's my only reason for 4 stars... otherwise, definitely would be 5 stars)

Montgomery is a solid author and has books on Statistical Quality Control and Design of Experiment that I have liked in the past. He doesn't disappoint with this introductory book.
