5.0 out of 5 stars Jah bless this man, August 7, 2000
It is Jah's hand touching us through Burning Spear's music. And it is really good to listen to the guidance of the wise elder. My favorites in this CD: Appointment With His Majesty and African Jamaican.

Jah bless Peace and one love

5.0 out of 5 stars Old but not cold, July 5, 1999
By A Customer
Old Winston Rodney has remained with very few reggstas who keeps the Old fire burnin`. Still sticking as I could hear him in this new album Appointment with his Majesty, nowadays one can only mention very few men who can be categorically compared to this Old timer.I firmly believe that only Joseph Hill of Culture is sticking together with Burning spear-like music which is the father and mother of all this fussy lyrics without a riddim and zero understanding [raggamuffin]. Well, only time will tell because true reggae is fading and we reggae fans will have no choice rather than sticking to the old fire, fayaa !!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Reggae CD of 1997, February 6, 1999
By A Customer
Burning Spear and the Burning Band at peak form. Easily the best reggae disc of 1997. If you like this CD, try Finley Quaye.

I cannot say enough about Burning Spear, he just takes me to a whole different level whenever I listen to him. He brings my spiritual side up to the top level. He is such an inspiration!

5.0 out of 5 stars My 1st buy of Burning Spear & this one must be a Grammy!, July 17, 1999
By A Customer
I am a huge roots and dancehall and all other forms of reggae for almost 7 yrs, and this album is great. My favorite songs on this tough album are: Future (Clean It Up), Appointment With His Majesty, African Jamaican & My Island. Out of these, "Appointment With His Majesty" his my song. This album is a clear grammy winner in my heart, this album is a must for any reggae fan, especially roots.

One love,

Rob, A.K.A. "Jah" Schreiber

4.0 out of 5 stars Unwavering Spear, November 1, 1998
By A Customer
Winston Rodney, the man we popularly call Burning Spear has really paid his dues in reggae. He was around when reggae was played as reggae and in these days that ragga and dancehall seem to be getting all the attention, Spear is not distracted. He plays pure reggae with the rich infussion of the horns (you'll love it). He has always played tunes to remind us of the past (slavery days, Marcus Garvey, African Postman etc) as a way of preparing us for the future. His mission is to preach Jah Kingdom in a rasta business.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spear is the Bomb!, October 4, 2000
By
Dee Sumpter (Charlotte, NC USA) - See all my reviews
I've followed 'Spear' for about 7 years now. A very dear friend of mines is the lead trumpet player of the group, James Smith aka 'Supe'. A very fine gentleman from down south. Say, could you possibly tell me how I could find out when 'Spear' will be playing in North Carolina again? And ask James to give Dee a call in Charlotte, NC on my toll free number. Thanks! Loving Spear in the South
