The book is great if you learn how to do things by reading. But if your like me, you'll prefer the dvd companion for the book.

This is an excellent independent resource for MA level classes, in addtion to an instructional guide for interviewing techniques in the field.

Although this book was not required reading for my counseling class, I am glad that I bought it. It has helped me to gain a deeper understanding of the various theories. Also, it really is entertaining reading.

This is a great book to learn and see all the theories applied throughout the same case study.

Thanks to Amazon, I have just been introduced to Gerald Corey's books. I absolutely recommend any of his books to new students in social work or psychology courses. His book is straight forward and finally gives new students a REAL view of how interviews are conducted, how assessments are completed and how treatment is defined. Not only that, it gives all of this information from various theoretic views. The best thing I've found this semester. I'll continue to use them and increase my library to include several more of Corey's books. Wow! What a finding.

It is a good book for demonstrating each of the therapeutic techniques. It was nice to be able to read about each approach to therapy in the textbook and then see it put into practice in the Case Approach book.

This is a great book to give you a quick review of psychotherapy and the different theories of psychotherapy. It is a good study guide and a good academic text.

A very helpful book and introduction to accompany the theories book published by the same author. The author writes well in a field not known for good writing. In my opinion, this text should be integrated into the primary text like other popular theories texts (see Sharf or Archer & McCarthy). Lastly, I think that once you have read a Corey text, you have read them all. As a good writer, his books sell. Consequently, there are many ancillary materials that acoompany each text publication, which makes a lot of money for both the author and the publisher.
