I recently got an iBook with only a cd-rom drive. This product looked perfect in the description stating that it works with macs and an os earlier than mine. I plugged the drive into my laptop and it wasn't recognized at all. When I plugged it into my PC, it worked perfectly. I will be returning this and continuing my search for an external drive compatable with my mac, but if you have a PC, it is a very nice product.

I purchased this drive for a notebook without a built in drive, and it's worked great for over a year. It's easy to use and works off the notebook battery for small jobs, and has a power supply and input for when it's going to be in use for an extended period. The only regret I have is not getting a DVD drive, but this does the job for loading programs and making copies files to share.
