Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Apricot Kernels by Apricot Power (Health and Beauty)
When you purchase this product, you'll notice that you are actually purchasing it from a distributor, in my case, Vitamin Shoppe. When the order arrived, the product was outdated. When I contacted Vitamin Shoppe, they responded immediately, but sent a replacement product that was also outdated. Bad, bad customer service. Beware.

Great-looking kernels,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I have twice ordered these kernels from American Biologics, both times the order was nicely packaged & arrived with additional interesting product info.
The last time I ordered, the kernels were on backorder, but I received advance notice of anticipated delay w/ updates on availability. Both times I've ordered, zip-lock bags of kernels were nearly 100% whole, very few broken pieces. I will continue to buy from American Biologics.

American Biologics apricot kernals are top notch--but order locally.,

I have been eating American Biologics brand apricot kernals for over 20 years and here are my tips for purchase and storage...
1. American Biologics brand apricot kernals are always top quality and not very expensive. However, judging by the reviews, the Amazon-listed suppliers try to stock this item which is not very popular--so you get old stock. Order locally through any health food store. It will not be more expensive, and it will be fresh. 2. If you put the original unopened plastic bag inside of 2 more ziplock or Hefty dual-seal freezer bags, put a paper towel in between the bags, and store in the bottom bin of your refrigerator, they will stay fresh and crispy a year. (Do not use the zipper bags with a plastic "slider," they are not airtight.) 3. After opening the bag, keep the kernals in a glass jar, or use 2 layers of plastic ziplock sandwich bags. 4. Not so good to put seeds in the freezer. They will remain edible but lose the freshness. 5. Be careful about putting apricot seeds in water to sprout or soften. If you then drink the water that soaked a lot of seeds, you might ingest more amygdalin than you think. Similarly, be careful about putting a lot of apricot seeds into cookies, smoothies, etc. Usually, it is most practical simply to chew thoroughly a few seeds at a time. If chewing is a problem, use a blender or coffee grinder. 6. I have also heard of people using a small amount of water with ground apricots as a suppository or "implant" in the colon. What this does, I am not sure. 7. There is currently a sprouted apricot seed butter listed on Amazon. This would obviously be the most assimilable form of this food. But again, be careful about using a whole lot at once. 8. See more information at Wikipedia. 9. Apricot kernals are high in several dietary elements that are lacking in most diets, and seem to give people extra energy. However eating a lot at once can make you queesey. I believe the important thing is to eat a small amount of such foods regularly through the years, not to wait until you have some health crisis and then to expect miracles.
