The best music there is. I have every US release from this band. If you are just starting to listen to Cusco, I recommend getting Apurimac or Apurimac 2 first. Also everyone should know that every Cusco album is very different, and unique from the others.

I grew up to this music...I've listened to it 500 times! And I'm only 23!

If you loan it to a friend, it will come between you when you BEG to get it back. This is an album that I NEVER EVER get tired of listening to....This is truly inspiring music with a sense of the mystic beauty of man's past mixed with all sorts of positive emotion for the future. Forget Prozac....it is WAY too expensive and has after effects. I prescribe a MINIMUM of at least one session of Apurimac II daily. This stuff gets into your soul and becomes part of you. It just leaves you wanting to play it over and over again. This and Apurimac III are the BEST!! I CUSCO, where have you been all my life?

Cusco has made large impact in the world of New Age music with this album. Specifically, the inspiring Montezuma was introduced, overshadowing other decent tracks such as Quetzal's Feather and Xul-Kan, King of Palenque. Other trakcs such as Dance of the Sun Priest, Yucatan, and Maya Temple (Temple of Remembrance is a "longer" version of Maya Temple) are not great, but enjoyable. Before "The Best of Cusco" was released, this cd was worth getting just for Montezuma alone. However, other tracks within this alubum are worth getting if you are craving for more sounds of Cusco.

Cusco reveals more mysteries of the Inca culture with their interpretative music on this highly creative CD. Their imagination soars into inner space - opening up new avenues of listening pleasure. Although my very favorite Cusco CD is the first Apurimac, this sequel is equally alluring. It contains fluid melodies and natural rhythms that bring to life the 'secrets' of the Inca culture. Experience the musical heights of the Andes mountains, glide on the wings of the condor and feel the soft fur of the lamas and alpacas ... This music is joyous and cheerful. Ever since I was five, I loved New Age and I still very much do.Especially Cusco. Apurimac 2 _ Return To Ancient America is my favorite album. My two favorite tracks are Montezuma and Yucatan. This is a ticket to a beautiful musical journey when you buy this CD. A true New Age classic indeed. Overall, this, to my opinion, is Cusco's best album yet.

I first recieved this as a gift, and thought oh no! But once I listend to it, I thought, Hey, not bad. I would recommend this to Easy-goers.

This CD should be the first one you should listen to. I would recommend Apurimac as the second one. As stated by others, each of their releases are somewhat different in content, but overall, the music is outstanding.

I just love the cusco collection of music. Especially the return to our ancestry cd. It was very uplifting and powerful at the same time. Brings you back into a time where life was sacred and humans were respected. If you love this CD then I suggest "strongly" that you buy 500 Nations which is a muscial journey into the American Indian Heritage; back into another era. This CD is simply put, AWESOME! There isn't one song that will not move you either by body or soul. It came from a CBS televison miniseries. But who would ever have known the songs would be so powerful. The music is by Peter Buffett. BUY IT. If you are fans of Cusco you will not be disappointed with it..I promise.

AFTER HEARING MUSIC ON TV., FOR A BEER COMERCIAL, I HAD BEEN IN TOWN AT A MALL AND HEARD THIS MUSIC PLAYED AT ONE OF THE NATURE STORES. I WENT IN AND WAS LISTENING TO THE BEAUTIFUL MELODY AND LINKED IT TO THE COMERCIAL THAT I HEARD. IT WAS FOR BUD ICE, BUT THE FIRST SONG ON THE CD IS THAT SONG. THIS ENTIRE CD, AND ALL THE OTHER CDS IN THE COLLECTION ARE ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. I USUALLY USE THEM FOR DRIVING TO KEEP ME IN A CHEERFUL MOOD AND TO KEEP ME AWAKE AT NIGHT. THE UPBEAT TUNE AND FAST TEMPO WILL DEFINENTLY KEEP YOU ALERT.
