5.0 out of 5 stars Great for the money!
I have the Sony Alpsa A100 and this is the perfect solution for a remote shuter release. It works flawlessly and is very reliable.I can take the picture from more than 15ft away.

It is high quality and easy to use.

The only con is that the adapter used to fit to the A100 results in the product dangling from the camera. But, that is the only way...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good product - but not the best solution for alpha
The product works fine, but it is not really designed for Sony alpha, so the transmitter is large (designed to fit on flash shoe)

While it worked satisfactorily, be aware that the cable (for wired function) is quite short

4.0 out of 5 stars Works well! Does the job., September 16, 2011

I got This remote for my Sony A100, it works great and I can fire the shutter for well over 15 feet align sight. For some reason the remote battery went dead in like 1 month but I think it was just cause it was the cheap stock battery. The only thing I wish was different about this remote which kept me from giving it 5 stars, is you have to extend the antenna on the remote or it won't work.. I wish it could trigger without that thing out... Other than that I'm very happy.

Although advertised as being compitable with the Sony Alpha A350, the shoe for this remote does not fit that particular camera. Manufacturer and Amazon need to review product ads and remove the declaration that it works with an A350.

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy!, February 14, 2011

Warning, this will be a very short review by a very disapointed customer. Don't buy if you can find anything else that works with your camera. This thing has a range of pretty much nothing, eats battery like there's no tomorrow and if you (like me) own a Alpha100 it will not attached to the camera's flash holder so it ends up dangling from your camera by its cable. In no way can I recommend that you buy this one, but it sort of works so I still give it 2 stars.

1.0 out of 5 stars Half broken straight out of the box, January 6, 2012
This review is from: "Aputure" Pro Coworker Wireless Remote, RF Radio Shutter Release for Sony Alpha DSLR-A300, A200, A700, A900, A100, A380, A500, A550, A850, A450,A290, A390, A580, SLT-A33, A55, Minolta Maxxum 5D, 7D, 7, 9xi, 7xi, 5xi, Fully Compatible with Sony RML1AM Remote Commander (Electronics)
I received my remote shutter today and I just went to test it out and couldn't get it to release the shutter. It would auto focus but not fire the shutter. I searched around on the internet for about 30 minutes trying to find a solution but there was nothing about this. After screwing around with it for an hour I finally figured out that the cable was faulty. If I tightly push the cable into the reciever and held it there, I could get it to work. As soon as I let go of holding it, it no longer works. The only solution I've had so far is to tightly wrap tape around it to keep the cable in extremely tight. It's a piece of junk IMO. The transmitter also does not fit on the sony hotshoe so that was kind of annoying but the fact that it doesn't actually work is what really irritated me

3.0 out of 5 stars Works on A55, but could be better, December 11, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this remote as replacement for a more expensive one that arrived defective but then was out of stock. It works, but has several inconveniences. Overall, it's OK for the price, but since I'm using it a lot I will get another one of the more expensive model once it's back in stock.

Pros:
- It works with the A55 (if the antenna is out). AF on half-press, continuous, 2 sec timer, bulb (press & hold for 2 sec, then press again to close the shutter) all work.
- Receiver takes cheap AAA batteries (unfortunately that's not the ones it eats - see Cons).
- Cable between receiver and camera can be exchanged to fit different cameras.

Cons:
- Receiver doesn't fit the Alpha hot shoe (as already mentioned) and dangles from the cable. Solved w. a piece of sticky-back Velcro to stick it to my tripod.
- Transmitter doesn't have an 'Off' switch. The switch is for changing between immediate shutter release and a 2 sec timer (which is useless for me since the A55 has a 2 or 10 sec timer). I'm suspecting this is causing Con #3.
- The transmitter battery only lasted me one session of ~ 270 shots. Unfortunately, that's the expensive 23A, 12V battery. I'm suspecting that the button got pressed in my camera bag since there is no off switch and the button is not really recessed. Taking out the battery might help.
- The antenna of the transmitter needs to be out or it will not work, even holding it right next to the camera.
- Occasionally, the shutter wouldn't be triggered, despite having the antenna out. That was at about 15 feet distance.
- Both transmitter and receiver are huge compared to the model I first bought. For night shots no big deal, but for my dance and yoga shots smaller, and no protruding antenna, would definitely be better.

Not that impressed. For some reason it only works from 3 feet away and no more. It says it can reach quite a bit further but i have yet to find a solution. For taking pictures of the stars (something i do quite frequently), it works great! But if you are trying to the a nice picture of you and someone else, might as well just use the timer on the camera. I have to buy an adapter to put on the top of my sony alpha a100 so it won't dangle towards the ground. I bought one on amazon for 12 bucks, so I hope it will solve the range at which the remote works. Overall, not that impressed at all. Might try to find a better quality one sometime here in the future to replace it. But it will work for now.
