it does have major problems.,

This review is from: "Aputure" Pro Coworker Wireless Remote, RF Radio Shutter Release for Canon EOS 10D, 20D, 30D, 40D, 50D, 7D, 5D, 5D Mark II, 1D, 1Ds Mark II, III, IV, Fully Compatible with Canon RS-80N3 (Electronics)
I bought this for my 40D, it seems function well, however, the transmitter (23A/12V Battery included) battery lasts onoy a few days in the transmitter even if I do not use the transmitter at all, I replaced with a new battery, same thing happpened after a few days. Seems there is a circit design problem that cause the battery leakage. Any comments? Thanks.
3/36/10. I called their Shenzhen headquarter in China and talked to their design enginner, they admitted that the circit has problems thatlead to a quick drain as many of you have seen and will see down the road.

Spent quite a bit of time trying to get it to work with the 40D, but it never fired the shutter. Exposure settings were fine, got the green lights, then the red lights, then nothing... tried it every which way, even in delay mode, would keep on blinking, could hear camera beeping, but it would not fire. I could manually press the shutter and the resulting picture would be fine. Enough time spent, it's going back.
FYI - What happened next... I purchased the Vivitar wireless remote for the Canon 40D/50D and it worked like a charm! Wireless Remote Shutter Release For Canon EOS 40D and 50D SLR Digital Cameras

A gem of a device,

I bought this unit to be able to remotely release the shutter on my Canon 5D Mark II. I worked like charm! I also purchased an additional cable to operate my Canon T1i and it works well on that camera as well.
It is a quality product, with a professional feel, at a great price.

This is an awesome addition for the camera. It's up and running in like 30 seconds, and the possibilities are endless because you're not using a cable to release your shutter. It's been used a ton and now is always in the camera bag when we head out. Kids love doing self portraits with it. All around family fun.

Works as advertised. Better than I expected. Pressing the Aputure button half way down is the same as pressing the camera's button half way down, that is: it allows the camera to focus and set the exposure before pressing all the way and taking the picture. Nice!

Wanted a way for remote trigger for my 50D. This guy does the trick no problems. The issues I have are the instructions are very poor (had to figure out what to do on my own), and there is no on/off switch on the remote so when I store in my camera bag (found out the hard way) that the switch was depressed and battery was dead when I went to use 1 week after purchase. I now store in a manner where I have the "switch" where it is less likely to be depressed (simple addition of on/off switch like that on receiver would eliminate this issue).
Bottom line: highly recommend Pros: lightweight, inexpensive, fires on demand Cons: Battery size on transmitter (123), no on/off switch on receiver, Make sure you either remove the battery or store so that the switch is not depressed and you will enjoy this item.

This works exactly as described and for the price, is an outstanding value.
It comes with the batteries that both the remote and trigger require and I had it ready to go and was shooting photos within two minutes of opening the box: [...] Highly recommend!

I'm familiar with radio triggers for my strobes but I've never used a wireless camera trigger. The unit didn't work (cord plugged in, fresh batteries and all that) at first but I changed the channel and got it to fire a about 10 times with maybe 30ft range. After that, I've tried several channels and it still doesn't work so I'll send it back.
With both units on the same channel, the receiver doesn't blink so I don't think it's a connection issue. I didn't want to give this a one star rating since if get a working one, I might love it. As for the unit itself, changing the channels is difficult. You'll need a pen or something similar to change them since the channels are about level with the plate. Even with a pen, they're still hard to change sometimes. It's a very poor design choice. Also, if you shoot with thumb focus, you'll need to switch the camera to the regular focus mode to get the camera to focus wirelessly. Other than that, the unit does work as a wired trigger even without batteries. Hopefully I can update this with a positive review if I get a working one. P.S.- I use a Canon 20D.

I should have paid attention to the reviews. This transmitter goes through batteries every other day. There is no off switch so I think it just stays on all the time. I have to pull the battery out every time I am done useing it. Other then that it works great. Looking for a a new and better one for $10 more.

Sorry, but I think this little item has major quality control problems. I never got the remote to work and returned it.
