This review is from: "Aputure" Pro Coworker Wireless Remote, RF Radio Shutter Release for Canon EOS Digital Rebel t1i, t2i, t3, t3i, xt, xti, xs, xsi 300d, 350d, 400d, 450d, 500d, 550d, 600d, 1000d, 1100d, 60d, Fullly Compatible with Canon RS 60-E3 (Electronics)
I currently own a Canon Rebel XSi. I did a little research on remote shutters before deciding on the Aputure Pro Coworker Remote Shutter. I ultimately chose this remote for its use of RF radio frequency over infrared by Canon's RC1 and RC5. I was able to leave my camera in one room and walk over 50ft away, and while pressing through 2 walls still getting instant triggering. Some things to note: if you insert the transmitter in to the hot shoe slot, the pop-up flash is disabled. No biggie just let it dangle or wrap it around the camera/lense somehow if you are need of the flash. Also, this remote does not require you to change the drive mode to "Self-timer/Remote control." Whatever drive mode you set your camera for, is what will be used if you leave the remote trigger on continuous shutter release.

This review is from: "Aputure" Pro Coworker Wireless Remote, RF Radio Shutter Release for Canon EOS Digital Rebel t1i, t2i, t3, t3i, xt, xti, xs, xsi 300d, 350d, 400d, 450d, 500d, 550d, 600d, 1000d, 1100d, 60d, Fullly Compatible with Canon RS 60-E3 (Electronics)
I have NO issues with the operation or quality of this accessory. I ordered it with my fingers crossed and was not dissapointed. One design issue, there are two modes of operation on the transmitter - instant/bulb and self timer mode. The self timer mode seems a little un-needed as this RF release has a good half-press feel and provides vibration free no-contact release. An additional 5-sec delay seems useless unless... you want to be in the pictures yourself and want 5 seconds to stash the transmitter out of sight before the shutter releases? The Instant/Bulb mode: half press then full press to instantly release shutter. You activate the Bulb mode by pressing and holding the shutter release button on the transmitter for >3 seconds. The Red LED on the transmitter will go out, the red LED on the receiver will stay on - deactivate bulb mode by pressing button again. I wish the switch had Instant/Bulb and OFF positions instead. That's right there is no OFF position for the transmitter. I opened camera bag to find that something had managed to press the buttton in while stored, sloppy me - no biggie, battery seems to last a long time. This works well with my Canon G11. I do a lot of night photography and HDR. When I have my camera on the tripod and wireless release in my hand I feel like an old time photographer working with the modern day equivalent of a field camera on sticks - air bulb release in hand...

Not only did I received fast delivery and wonderful service, the remote works fantastic! The remotes works same principle as a wireless printer. The camera recognizes it through interior walls. I can also be sitting inside my home (having my camera already set up pointing to the focal point that I want to capture) and snap pictures of my birds at their feeders without scaring them and capture the image! There are so many possibilities with this remote than just snapping a family photo and being within the photo at the same time!

I have a couple of different remotes for my Canon Rebel Xti. This Aputure wireless remote has replaced all of them (for taking pics). I installed the included batteries, plugged it in and it works as well as any wired remote plus I now can trip shutter from far away. We are using the remote now for pics of birds we have nesting in our porch. They fly away when we try to get close with the camera but they aren't bothered by the camera on a tripod (minus the people). Now we watch the birds through a window and snap the shutter remotely when we want the shot. A couple of nice features I didn't expect: There is a trigger button on the receiver which is plugged into the camera for those times when you don't need the remote trigger. Also, nice added bonus is the timer function on the remote. There is a little slider switch to go from instant shutter to a delay shutter... such as when you want to take those family portraits and get everyone ready for the shot, etc. Truthfully, I can't see anything about this device to complain about...especially at this price. This is one of those purchases where you will never feel buyer's remorse.

Review for: Aputure" Pro Coworker Wireless Remote Trigger, RF Radio Shutter Cable Release for Canon Digital Rebel x1i, xt, xti, xs, xsi 300d, 350d, 400d, 450d, 500d, 1000d, Canon Powershot G10, G11, Fullly Compatible with Canon RS 60-E3All the reviews for this product were positive, so I ordered the wireless remote trigger for my Canon T2i because I needed a way to trigger the shutter without touching the camera body and liked that this remote uses RF and not IR so that it does not require line of sight to a receiver on the camera. Unfortunately, right out of the box, this remote did not work. After reading the cryptic (and tiny print) directions, installing the batteries in the receiver and the transmitter, installing the receiver on the T2i's hot shoe and connecting the cable from the receiver to the camera body, I could not get the shutter to trigger using the remote transmitter. I know there was nothing wrong with the receiver, because there is a shutter trigger on the receiver and it worked perfectly. I also ensured that the RF code (4 dip switches) on the receiver and transmitter matched. Whether my problem was due to a DOA battery for the transmitter, the transmitter itself, or the receiver, I'll never know, because I have returned this defective product. It is too bad that this product did not work. If it had, it would have been a perfect solution for my current application as well as affording greater flexibility in the future when I might need a wireless remote. After having problems with this product, I did a little further searching on Amazon for other reviews of similar products and found that the version for the Canon cameras which use the Canon RS-80N3 ("Aputure" Pro Coworker Wireless Remote Trigger, RF Radio Shutter Cable Release for Canon 10D, 20D, 30D, 40D, 50D, 5D, 5D Mark II, 7D, 1D, 1Ds Mark II, III, IV, Replacing Canon RS-80N3) contained negative reviews concerning the battery life of the transmitter's battery as well as new units not working. I decided to buy the RS60-E3 wired remote instead (Canon Remote Switch RS60 E3). My application does not require wireless, just remote shutter trigger, so the Canon remote will work for now.

Using this with a 60D. Right out of the box it works no problems. Not much else to say. Have not been able to do a true range test yet but it seems to be of above average quality for the low price.

Sorry for any English mistake. I have been using this product for some months already and I am totally satisfied. Easy to use, good range, good price. As an RF shutter its much better than an infra-red one. You don't have to point to the camera to shut. I am using it with my Rebel T2i (canon 550D) and even my 3 years old sun can use it easily. Probably he would have problems with an IR one. I've had an IR one before and this one is much better in range also. And you can hide it from the camera, so you can be part of the picture without showing the remote control. My advice is: dont buy a $2 IR, buy this, you will be much more satisfied. Ok, it takes the place of the flash, I have a speedlite 430ex II. What I do is let the RF receptor connected just by its cable and put the flash in its place. Maybe they could change the design and keep a socket for an external flash, just transmitting the original contacts to a point over this unit or something like this. Another advise: keep a piece of plastic to save the battery of the transmitter. I don't know if the original battery was too bad, but it didn't last very much. I bought a new one and every time I stop using the transmitter I put this piece of plastic to avoid battery contact, just like those that come in some new products. I can even take it out without open the battery cover.

I've taken several hundred shots with this trigger, but I'm going to replace it with another trigger.I have no complaints about the functionality of the trigger; as long as the batteries are good I've never had a misfire. The range is more than adequate for any distance I've used it, probably 15-20 meters at the most. The receiver fits solidly into a both the hotshoe on my T3i and my Gadget Infinity CactusV flash triggers. The transmitter fits well enough in my hand, and easily drops into a shirt pocket while using my hands to setup a shot. The problem is that the transmitter does not have an off switch. The receiver does, and a set of batteries lasts for at least a month of 2-3x weekly use. The transmitter button, while large and convenient when you're shooting, is also large and convenient enough that it can easily get activated in my camera bag from normal jostling around. Not necessarily such a big deal, except it takes a size 23A battery - I made it a point to keep a couple extras on hand, but they're not especially cheap and the poor design means that I'm replacing them way too often. I've just grown too frustrated by having to stock an odd, non-rechargeable battery for this one particular gadget. For casual shooters who may not be keeping this in a gear bag that goes with them everywhere, or who don't mind inserting/removing the battery before/after every shoot, I think this is a great product and is an excellent solution at this price point. I'm going to upgrade to a trigger that exclusively uses AA or AAA batteries, and I'm going to shell out the bucks for additional features like programmable delays, multiple exposures per trigger, etc. If they'd engineered this trigger with a twentyfive cent powerswitch on the transmitter, this would be a five star review. Unfortunately, they decided to save a few cents in manufacturing costs and ultimately we photographers pay the price.

i just got this remote for my canon EOS 60D. This remote is awesome. The build quality is very solid and the receiver actually receives the signals from outside the room between walls. I love it

The products functions wonderfully. I am completely satisfied with it. Just make sure you keep spare batteries in your camera bag. I don't know if it was the cheap, free batteries that came with this unit or what, but I only used it twice for practice, and when I showed up to a photo shoot, the battery in the remote was dead. There is no "off" switch on the remote portion and the battery died after sitting in the unit for 4 days. I replaced it, and it works great again so far. I just hope this new, name brand battery lasts more than 4 days.
