We own a Maytag Plus side-by side refrigerator/freezer and it is becoming hard to find the proper replacement filters at the local dealer (we've been sent home with several wrong filters). I don't remember the original Maytag part number, but this fits our model perfectly and works well. The price is good too.

The filter has been great! Work as well as the brand name product. The jury is still out on the number of months before replacing. My Maytag refrigerator is about 11 years old, and the change filter light will come on annually or when so many gallons of water has been used. I'll update this post when I have to order a new filter!

I can't imagine why anyone would pay full retail for manufacturer specific water filters when this "generic" (Aqua Fresh) one does exactly the same thing for a fraction of the cost.
It works, it lasts, it's a good product. This is the 3rd one I've used over the past 2 years as they need to be changed about every 6 months. (The case with all refrigerator water filters.) If I had bought the Maytag version it would have been almost double the cost.
