2.0 out of 5 stars Not Working for Convertable Top
Was recommended by West Marine employee to repair a 6" slit along the seam of my 350Z convertible top after sewing with marine grade/thick waxed thread. The first use along with marine grade sealer lasted about 6 weeks beginning in August. Reapplied and the seal lasted again and it made it about 4 weeks. Just redid this a 3rd time on both interior and exterior and it...

I forget where I first heard about this product, but after I read reviews of it here and elsewhere, I decided to try it for repairing tears in our gazebo's canvas roof. This product has far exceeded my expectations. I have used it both to repair tears and to reinforce the seams where the hooks are sewn onto the canopy. It's held up through sun, heat and rain as well as cold. My husband and I are still surprised!

It is barely visible on the taupe canvas. Additionally, I used it to repair a badly worn and split leather seat in our van. The leather was worn paper thin in spots and we had to take drastic measure to make sure it didn't come apart. Again, this product is barely visible and it has held true in the heat of a closed vehicle when outside it was in the upper 90's. It's also held up in the cold.

This is a GREAT product. One caveat: You can buy it in larger dimensions and longer rolls on the manufacturer's website for MUCH less than you'll find it in this retail packaging. When I order more -- and I will, along with the formula for vinyl -- it'll be directly through the manufacturer.

Did some research on the 'net and could not find a pure "convertable top patch kit" to save my life! Somewhere I saw someone mention this product so I found it here and bought it, so my review stems from that perspective.

My use was on a 2003 Miata convertible top, (for those of you that don't know the '03 model was when the canvas top became available for the Miata. Previously it was only available with a vinyl top) that had a small hole in it (about the size of a pencil tip) enough to drip water on my ear when it rained hard.

Applied product to both sides of the hole and after a month and a half adhesion has been good and I have not seen any discoloration. Applied a larger piece to the underside and a 1" square on top. It's noticeable within 5' but further it is not.

Installation was fairly simple rub area with included alcohol swab then slap on. Good cheap repair for (at the very least) small flaws on convertible tops.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tear Aid patch kit, December 28, 2008

I purchased this patch kit to repair a 14" gash in my son's Banzai sidewinder falls water slide. These work great! I will be buying a bunch for next summer as the pool takes a lot of abuse. The patch is easy to apply and hold under air pressure, wear and tear play, dogs, and water. Fantastic patch kit--I highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars great repair kit!, December 29, 2010

This is a great repair kit! It saved our aero bed (which we were unable to repair using the kit that came with it or others that we had bought) and would have saved our jumpolene had we not already repaired it WAYYYY too much. It was just done. This was so easy to use and a great kit! Highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great so far, April 14, 2010

I bought this tape as well as the sister product "B" to repair a rip in a pop up tent. The rip was about a foot long and right at the seam where the fabric, screen and vinyl window all came together right by the door. Now, one of these tapes is for vinyl and the other is for everything else so the problem was how to make them work in this situation. I managed to do it by overlapping the tape that works on everything else onto the tape that works on vinyl. As I'm writing this, I don't know which is which. What I do know is it has held and repaired a foot long tear. Because the tape is clear, it is not as ugly as it could be. It's not invisible, but it does the job in a apot that I thought would be impossible to fix. I'm very, very pleased with this product. Because it stretches once it is applied, it is holding and I believe it will hold for some time to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Tape Works Well, July 2, 2011

I purchased this vinyl tape to repair a large hole in the side of the driver's seat of my 1996 Toyota 4-Runner. I had already tried to repair the seat about a year ago with duct tape, but over time the duct tape slipped off and the adhesive became soft and horribly gummy. So far the new repair with this Tear-Aid tape has worked beautifully. The tape stretches with the seat when I get in and out of the car and has not pulled loose at all. It's only been on about a month though so only time will tell how permanent a repair it is. So far I am impressed with the product. I only wish there was more on the roll.

5.0 out of 5 stars Leather couch tear...NO MORE!, May 29, 2011

Read all of the reviews and decided that we'd give this a try to repair a growing hole in our leather couch...we placed the patch on the underside of the leather so it adhered well and doesn't show at all. So far it's holding up very well, despite us putting it under constant stress. VERY happy with this product so far, and we have plenty left over. A great value!

Most air beds come with a patch and glue. This is a tape so you don't get the glue all over your fingers. Watch out - this stuff is sticky!

A tear in a motorcycle cover threatened to bring it apart. Searched on line for a way to fix it. I found this. Ordered it. After applying I haven't thought of it since. Meaning that it is doing its job perfectly.

When applying keep in mind that it is VERY sticky.

So far so good. Works great.
