We were looking to purchase a larger sized "warm suit" for my daughter who regularly swims in a Wisconsin lake and thought this would be perfect--since we already owned two smaller sized Aqua Sphere Stingray Core Warmers from a few years ago and have LOVED them. We realized that this would be thinner than a regular wet-suit, but unfortunately, when we recieved this new suit, it was MUCH thinner than the previous versions and it was hardly much more than a bathing suit in thickness! I would suggest looking elsewhere if you want something that will actually keep the kids warm. If you are looking for something to block the sun and provide "full coverage", then you might like this suit, but if you are looking for anything else, I think you'll be disappointed.

I have a very small, almost 3 year old, who weighs less than 25lbs and is always cold in the water. I also have a 5 year old who is tall but skinny. These suits probably does help a bit with the cold but my younger son still shivers and has blue lips after 30 minutes in 82 degree water. If your child is super skinny and gets gets cold easily, I would recommend buying a thicker wetsuit.

I don't know about how well these work yet. We will be trying these next week. My major problem is with the sizing. I only know of this problem because I ordered 2 suits! I ordered a size 8 and a size 6. The size 8 fit my 8 year old perfectly, I then pulled the 6 out of its package. Just looking at it I was sure they sent me the wrong size. I double checked the label and it said 6, but it looked like a size 4 (it didn't even fit my large 3 year old). I sent it back and reordered another size 8, since he had tried on the size 8 we got, and it seemed like it would work for him. When I got it, I verified the size and it did say 8. The problem is I hold it up to the first size 8 I purchased, and they obviously aren't the same size. It says 8 but looks like a size 6. My almost 7 year old just fits into it. Somebody in quality control at Aqua Sphere is sleeping on the job and I think these things are getting labeled with the wrong sizes. Like I said, I would never have know about this except I purchased two. I plan on contacting Aqua Sphere to question them. I will update this review if/when they respond to me.

*****Update***** The company responded and claimed they have switched manufactures and that they have tried to make sure the stock was only from the one company, but obviously they didn't get all the old, larger ones. So when ordering for a kid who wears size 7-8 clothing, order a size 10 in this suit!!!!! We have tried the suit now in the pool, at the very beginning of the season, and it is working well to keep my kids (who usually get cold very easily) from freezing during swim practice. So I like the product, just not the hoops I have had to deal with when it comes to sizing.

Pro:
- good quality, the material is not too thin, bright colors
- keeps my son warm when he swims outdoor in a cold weather

Cons:
- too small and short for my skinny and short 6 years old (I ordered it in size 6 and it fits my 3.5 yr old)
There is a comment about swims suit are made to stretch...but this product doesn't stretch

Overall I'm pretty happy with my purchase, just have to reorder the bigger size

My daughter is so skinny that she can't swim in our lake. It's just too cold. We've tried wearing several swim suits and other "thermals", but this one is the best. Even at 68 degrees she could swim.

This is a nice wetsuit for my kids. However, the sizing is egregiously mislabeled.

-I have a size 6 that is actually about a size 24 month. It does not fit my average size 2.5 year old.
-I have another size 6 that is about a size 4. It fits my 2.5 year old fine.
-I have a size 8 that is more like a size 6.

You read that right. My two "size 6's" are significantly different in size. My recommendation is to order 2 sizes up and if it is still too tight, return it and order the same size again because it might be different.

As far as the product itself, I really like it.
-The black part is a thick, wetsuit-like material.
-The colored portion is thin and stretchy which allows for good range of motion.
-The color pattern (I have orange) is highly visible from far away which is a great safety feature. I have all my kids in the same color so they are easy to spot in a crowded setting.
-Good sun coverage so less sunblock is needed.
-Nice beefy zipper.

We received the size 10 and it fits like our size 8 with the short sleeves made by the same company that my just turned 7 yr old fits in fine. My older daughter is 9 and average size. She always has room to grow in a size 10. This is way too small. We found a size 12 on another website. Hopefully it'll fit! I'll write a review for it as soon as we receive it. It was $20 more but worth it to me since we swim A LOT all summer long & she has a very fair complexion. We only use these suits for UV protection, not for warmth. When we lived in northern CA we used full on wetsuits (2mm/3mm neoprene) that kept my girls very warm in the water. Thanks for reading!
UPDATE: We received our size 12 in nine days from the UK. It fits beautifully on my 9 yr old with a little room to grow! I'm very happy with this suit! Just be sure to order a size or two larger than what you would typically purchase! Thanks & Happy Swimming!
