The AquaClear Power Filter represents one of the most versatile hang-on filter systems available. The five models available provide a complete selection of flow rates for the most popular sizes of aquariums. The filter’s unique design allows for up to six times more media volume and the longest water to media contact time in the industry. The AquaClear flow control will reduce the flow by up to 50% without harming the filters motor or impeller. The AquaClear filter media system includes the patented, innovative re-circulation grid and multi-filter media stacking. The re-circulation grid allows water to be passed through filter media more than once when slower flow rate adjustments are selected, allowing superior contact time and significantly contributing to water quality.

How It Works
The AquaClear Power Filter draws water from the aquarium through an extension tube into the motor which then pumps water out of the impeller assembly. The intake "U" tube directs the flow of unfiltered water through filter inserts to trap particles, debris, and purify the water.CycleGuard Multi-Stage Filtration System

AquaClear Activated Carbon Filter Inserts contain 100% premium research grade carbon. Premium research grade carbon provides large amounts of surface area for adsorption of undesirable impurities. The Activated Carbon Filter Inserts will remove unwanted odors, discoloration and impurities resulting in a crystal clear aquarium. AquaClear Carbon filter inserts provide more than five times the carbon found in most single cartridge clip on filter systems. This level of carbon will provide optimal water clarity in both freshwater and saltwater aquariums.

AquaClear BioMax Filter Inserts contain BioMax ceramic rings. The surface of BioMax is made up of a complex pore system that allows bacteria to thrive. Use of the BioMax Filter Insert will provide optimal living space for beneficial bacteria and enhance the removal of ammonia and nitrites resulting in a healthy aquarium environment.
Power Filter Maintenance
For maximum filter operation and efficiency, regular cleaning of the filter and its parts is recommended every two weeks. Always unplug the Aquaclear Power Filter prior to cleaning. First you want to remove the cover, filter basket, and discard water remaining in the filter case. Thoroughly rinse collected debris from the case, impeller cover and impeller assembly using clear lukewarm water. The intake "U" tube and extension tube can be cleaned with a filter stem brush to remove any buildup of deposits. When all parts have been cleaned and thoroughly rinsed, reassemble filter and replace any scheduled media. Install the filter once again back on the aquarium making sure that the filter is tipped slightly forward. Then fill the AquaClear filter box with aquarium water. Finally plug the filter into an electrical outlet and the AquaClear will self-prime and begin running in a few seconds.Media Replacement

For Crystal Clear Water,

I set up the Aqua Clear in water that was yellow and pretty cloudy. The Aqua Clear clear cleaned the water and diminished the yellow tint within a day. I was being told by my local pet store that the Fluval filter was the best filter for my turtles. Even with cloudy yellow water, my local pet store said it was natural and fine. It wasn't so fine with me. I could hardly see my turtles and had to change the filters every two weeks and use a turkey baster every day to pick up larger debris which that filter couldn't handle. Now I have very happy turtles that are enjoying the water more and getting out of their shells, I'll let my turtles speak for themselves.

I received this filter when I acquired a 125 gallon freshwater tank. They had two on the system.
I purchased new carbon bags and rinsed the filters and sponges and it is the BEST filter I have ever had, and that's a lot of filters. I usually use biowheels, which are wonderful but they are splashy and loud. The Aquaclears are not loud plus have an adjustable flow which is a HUGE benefit alone. They are perfect as you can add media just like you could a canister filter, as it has a media basket instead of cartridges. It's really brilliant! I will certainly be purchasing the smaller versions for my future tanks, the rest are set up w/ biowheels. My hospital tank will be sporting a new aquaclear very soon as it's in the bedroom and these filters are very quiet. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

great filter,

i've had this filter for over 5 years now, running continuously obviously (minus the times i've cleaned it). it has not once broken down, or gotten clogged. the water is always very clear, and i do not have to clean the filter or water very often (i only do it every couple of months).
