4.0 out of 5 stars Don't get anything but water on it January 2, 2012
Durability: 3.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
The Aqua doodle was so much fun for my 1 1/2 year old. She loves it. However it has 1 big drawback....cleaning.
There are 2 huge spots on the aqua doodle and both are some sort of oil base: peanut butter and a mushy ball which apparently had some form of oil on it. I tried baking soda and vinegar as well as regular dish soup (liquid and powder forms) nothing helps.
I guess it's not so bad that she can't use it but it's only a few weeks old and already 2 big stains on it. So if you don't give your kids crayons at the same time or really make sure there isn't anything oil based on your kid's fingers or on the place where they will be coloring, then get it. Will we get another- yes probably. I like the idea of no mess coloring especially for the kids under 3. However, I will be watching her much more closely wit the next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars love it! December 5, 2011
Durability: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
We have a 20 month old that loves to color, but doesn't understand that the walls and furniture aren't for coloring on with crayons. So we stopped coloring, then I saw this on tv, I had to get it. And its been a great toy! I did get some of the extras for more fun. But its so easy, just fill the pen with water and have them color away on the pad!

5.0 out of 5 stars kids love it January 27, 2012
Durability: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 4.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
When, I was got the Spin Master AquaDoodle Draw N Doodle mat I knew right away my kids where going to be really happy. This is great for any age really, I actually set in the floor and played with it with my kids. The water pen is great for those little hands to hold onto with out it being to little or too big. Plus, it glides on the mat really easy. I really liked how the mat was soft not really rough on the skin. With my kids practically laying on the mat that is really important to me. I is is great for the images to fade away because it allows them to have fun over and over. It is funny that the mat never really feels like it gets soaked, plus the water from the pen didn't leak though the mat, so you don't have to worry about your floor getting soaked. When they are all done playing on the mat is folds up and is easy to fit into the little places. I was actually able to fold this one up and place it right between the wall and the dresser which is a very little place. So, it didn't take up in room at all. This is such a great product that is great for ages 2+ and will keep those little ones busy for hours while you are cleaning the house or well me blogging.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Solution for a Toddler Who Loves to Color February 20, 2013
By Wa Mom
Durability: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
My daughter is obsessed with coloring, but at two years old, she has a tendency to want to chew on, eat, or break the crayons as well as to color on the table or other surfaces upon which coloring is not allowed. For these reasons, when crayons come out, I must supervise my daughter, which would be fine if it weren't for the fact that she constantly wants to color. I'm a single mom and simply can't superise her every time she requests to color.

The Aquadoodle was the perfect solution. I can permit my daughter to color without wasting paper, breaking crayons, digging wax out of her mouth, or scrubbing crayon marks off the table. If she accidentally misses the Aquadoodle mat while coloring, the water doesn't harm the surrounding surfaces. I don't have to worry about her clothes being stained or any other concerns that come with more permanent coloring products.

I probably use the Aquadoodle mat a little differently than most. When placed on the floor, my daughter didn't have a firm enough surface upon which to draw (the carpetting was too soft). At two years old, she would also would fold the mat, drag it around, or use it as a blanket. I decided to attach her Aquadoodle mat to the wall to avoid these problems. Now it's always in the same place with a firm drawing surface under it and she knows if she wants to color, she has a place to do it.

I hadn't thought much about the pictures around the edge of this product until I noticed my daughter kept saying things like "apple" and "moo" and would bark while she was standing near it. Upon further inspection, I realized she was responding to the pictures. Now I use the pictures around the edge of this item to develop her language and as a tool to help her learn the alphabet.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun - but limited in its use February 7, 2013

This is a fun coloring mat, and my daughters have a great time with it. My only wish would be that it actually dried out a bit faster.
With all three of my daughters "coloring" on it with the water pens/brushes, they color in every last inch of it in a very short period of time, and then it takes a couple hours to dry out. It's a great item, but I do wish it were able to dry more quickly so they could play with it again in a shorter span of time.

5.0 out of 5 stars My daughter loves this January 31, 2012

I got this toy for my 18 month old daughter and she loves it. She will randomly come up to it and doodle and run away with the pen. I love that its in color and that the pen leaves no mess because its water. It will sprinkle a few drops of water when the pen is violently thrown but its only water so I dont care. Also my daughter like most toddlers puts everything in her mouth so the fact that its only water makes me very happy. Overall a fun toy and a good purchase

My toddler loves this toy. It is perfect for people who don't want a mess - your kids can draw at will, and it's just water that eventually evaporates. Wonderful
