I ordered this bath seat for my son. It seemed to be a solid chair, that wasn't terribly large or bulky, and was an affordable price. However, once we began using it, the problem was that the rubber tips on the chair legs would slip around in the tub! Obviously this was not a secure situation for my son... When I helped him get out of the shower, the chair began to tip sideways. The following day, the chair slipped forward, then the whole chair tipped back with him in it, causing him to hit his head on the tub! Needless to say, the chair was not useable for my son. I was extremely upset. I understand that the rubber tips aren't made to suction on to the tub, but I certainly didn't expect them to slide around!

I recently fractured 2 vertebrae in a fall. This bath chair went together very easily, (no tools required), and was lightweight enough for me to handle on my own.
It fits easily in the bathtub, doesn't slip, and has adjustable, rubber coated legs.
The chair is light enough for me to lift out of the tub, and put it down on a mat to dry off and get dressed.
It's been a lifesaver for me!

I disagree with other reviewers. I've compared these bath chairs side by side. (Carex vs. AquaSense). Perhaps it depends what kind of flooring you have. If laminate or linoleum, Carex is possibly the safer choice. Carex does nicely on bathroom carpets. For inside the tub, Carex seems sturdier. Body weight probably has something to do with it also. My friend did not feel comfortable holding herself up on the side of the AquaSense. Sitting in the AquaSense was fine. It did not move or slide. Neither did the Carex. Probably best not to rely on this. The Carex chair feels better. Have now bought 3 Carex, 0 AquaSense, Put your money where your mouth is???

On the plus side, you can put your shampoo bottles on this chair-(flat enough to hold things.) while sitting in the Carex chair. The two were reviewed side by side. This one slid, one cannot use this chair as a support while going to a standing position; in fact do NOT rely on it at all other than to sit still. The shower/bathroom can be a very terrifying place for a disabled person. The person felt more secure with Carex.

Look for sales: AquaSense Adjustable Bath and Shower Seat now $35, Carex $38.

Never used! It is too wide for my bathtub. It would help if the dimensions were given in the description.

When I first bought this shower seat on June 18, 2012, it arrived promptly and was very easy for my husband to assemble. It seemed sturdy, yet was lightweight enough for me to lift. I am undergoing chemotherapy, weigh under 150 pounds (the chair has a 250 lb. weight capacity), and needed this chair as I'm too weak to stand for too long in the shower. I loved the seat as I felt safe and comfortable in the shower. I was also the only one using the seat.

Last week when I sat on the chair, the front legs splayed out on me, the chair was wobbly and my husband had to rescue me from the shower. He adjusted the bolt heads and all seemed okay again. During my next shower on September 23, 2012, the seat collapsed under me. Luckily I wasn't hurt but again needed rescuing from the shower. This time the bolt heads had completely given out.

This seat is just not safe. Amazon tells me that return of this chair had to be prior to July 21, 2012 (one month after purchase) for a full refund or I can return it now at my expense for a partial refund. This is just ridiculous when it concerns the quality of a health item. Shouldn't a shower seat last longer than three months? I will think long and hard about any future purchases from Amazon.

Its a plastic chair. That you can put in your shower. It screws together with !nine! thumb screws that take forever to put in and come loose periodically. The seat and the back are identical pieces of plastic so don't expect great ergonomics... but that is not what it is for, anyway. So I guess the point of this review is- the item works, but it is pretty cheap and no-frills. You might want to consider looking for something a little bit better that assembles more easily and doesn't loosen.

This aquasense adjustable bath and shower chair is a lot better then the last one I bought. The last one I bought was made buy some other company and it rusted out and one of the legs cracked in half due to rust. This won't rust and should last a lot longer then the first one I purchased. I also like the idea that the legs are adjustable. I'm completely happy with this chair.

Purchased this for my mother, who lives in an "independent living" apartment. As she's gotten older and weaker, it's harder for her to stand up for long periods of time. We wanted a seat with a backrest and adjustable legs and this fit the bill perfectly.
