Hey kids, what do we got?!,
This review is from: Aquabats Vs the Floating Eye of Death (Audio CD)
Don't listen to any kids who say "Fashion Zombies!" is The Aquabats' best song. Just tune them out immediately.
I adore The Aquabats. Christian (The MC Bat Commander) said that this album was different. He wasn't lying, though I sort of discredited him at first considering he threw up rotten half-and-half all over some kid named Todd thirty seconds after he revealed in the brilliance of this album. This album is an exploration into a whole new world for The Aquabats. If you've been a fan from the start, or just plunged into their world recently, be true to them and get this album! It's fanatastic! They have their insane, crazy songs, and some serious, meaningful songs that absolutely take my breath away. Case in point, "Hello, Good Night" is a gorgeous song about death, life, and finding meaning in what you have. It's so different for them, but they do emotional lyrics in a way that's totally their own, but also so easy to relate to. Another amazing song on this CD is "Chemical Bomb", which holds deep insight to the fate of this world. Looking past that, my favourite song is on this CD, "Lovers Of Loving Love". The Aquabats do love songs right! Fun, sweet, adorable, and absoultely lucious, I am in love with this song about being in love. And tasting cherry chapstick, ahh, ahh, ahh. And wow, the cover art and inside booklet are so amazing and fun. I love to look at the art and the super rad photos. All of the lyrics are included with this CD, unlike some of their other CD's where in I had to look online to decode what Christian was screaming. I don't know if ska fans will enjoy this, considering I like The Aquabats, not ska. But if you like good music, or you love The Aquabats, then this is for you!

The Pinnacle of Human Evolution,
By David Fergusson (PG, BC CAN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Aquabats Vs the Floating Eye of Death (Audio CD)
This is what the aeon upon aeon of human development has come to. All of the Mozarts, Beethovens, Einsteins and Saulks have been working towards THIS. TFEOD is an accurate view of the human psyche and all of its complex innards. It is a Mona Lisa; it is a Sistine Chapel; it is quite possibly the best piece of artwork ever developed by human hands.

This album has everything you should expect from an Aquabats release, great tunes and great humor. It proves that our heros can be multi-dimensional without sacrificing the things that made we kids Aquabats fans in the first place. Exactly the things you should expect from any band by their third album. If you want a band that does the same old stuff album after album listen to Journey. Ignore the denizens of evil who want their favorite bands to conform to their own limited, selfish perceptions. Their parents probably booed Dylan when he went electric. This is a great first album for new kids, and a great, fresh collection for older ones. Check out theaquabats.com for tour dates supporting this release. These guys are just getting better and better.

A great CD, even if they did change their style,

This review is from: Aquabats Vs the Floating Eye of Death (Audio CD)
This is the third CD that has come out of the Aquabats and the first thing you might notice is that the style is way different than the last two. The last two had a ska feel, but this is different. This isn't a bad thing. The title's and lyrics are the same wacky creativity that can only come out of the Aquabats. Some songs are slow and somewhat depressing(Chemical Bomb, Lovers of Loving Love, Hello Goodnight) while others have high energy that makes you want to do a karate chop(Giant Robot Birdhead, Amino Man, Sequence Erase, AntiMatter) while others are plain wacky (Tiny Pants, the Man with Glooey Hands). This has been a very welcome addition to my Aquabats collection and I am listening to it almost non-stop as of right now. Don't let the change from ska keep you from buying this.

Awesome,

I got this CD along time ago. And while it is a bit different form the return cd. I would say this cd is even better. The sound is so much more professional and amazing than their other cds. With party anthems like Canus Lupus and Giant Robot Birdhead, and slower songs like Mr. Bonkers and hello, good night, love song slike lovers of loving love, and even some odd yet awesome songs like tiny pants...This CD has it all. It proves that the Aquabats arent just stuck in one genre, and they can not be merely labeled as a ska band. They are an awesome band!! Its as simple as that. It wmay take a few listens to get used to, but you will love this cd.

newer aquabats C.D.,

This review is from: Aquabats Vs the Floating Eye of Death (Audio CD)
The previouse Aquabats C.D.s have been amazing, and had a strong surf ska sound to them. This C.D. is just as good (if not better.) but the ska is replaced by a more of a punk sound. There still is a little bit of ska, but not as much. This is a good thing, because you can listen to all of their music and get a good variety.

I have been a fan of the aqubats from their earlier days, and yes this album does not have to much to do with ska, it is still an amazing album. I love how the band is progressing as a musical group and their sound is getting better and better and their lyrics are becoming clever and more interesting!

Different... but more mature, and still rocking!,
By Kathleen (Washington) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Aquabats Vs the Floating Eye of Death (Audio CD)
A fantastic display of both musical talent and witty lyrics, mixed with a generous dose of pure fun rock and roll.... blended with the power rangers, and what do you get? Best. Album. Ever. It may not be the ska that they became well known before, but it's fresher and much more evolved. Every track is fantastic, from the hyper Lovers of Loving Love, to the chilling, serious Chemical Bomb. It's rocking, and heck, it's a ton of fun.

THE BEST CD EVER!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Aquabats Vs the Floating Eye of Death (Audio CD)
This is obviously the best CD ever. The Aquabats continue to dominate with their wacky tunes, crazy lyrics, and just plain fun. This is another reason the Aquabats are my favourite band. The best songs are "Giant Robot-Birdhead" "Lotto Fever" "Lovers of Loving Love" "Monster's Wedding" and "Canis Lupis". All the other songs are great but those five are the highlights of the album. "Giant Robot-Birdhead" has a cool tune and funny lyrics. "Lotto Fever" is just plain funny. "Lovers of Loving Love" is irresistible, especially the chorus. I laughed so hard when I first heard "Monster's Wedding". And "Canis Lupis" has cool tune and cool lyrics. Other great songs include "Chemical Bomb" "Antimatter" and "Amino Man". I hope this review helped you decide weather or not you want the album. Even if you like the Aquabats just a little, GET IT!
