Tull is Timeless. We can be told that shell shock is now PTSD...but it's still a traumatized human being. Someone freezing to death on the streets is now an a homeless person instead of a bum...but whatever you call them, they're still freezing to death under that bridge..." When the ice that clings onto your beard was screaming agony..."

This music has a social conscience, and it asks you to open your eyes...even now. So who is King?

What can I say? This is Jethro Tull at their best. That kind of sounds stupid when I go back and read it because Jethro Tull albums are always their best. As much as I hate the saying "It's all good!" it really is. Let me rephrase my opening statement. This is one of Jethro Tull's most popular. If you have never heard it I feel sorry for you. Listen to this and then listen to some of their other music. You will be glad you did.

A masterpiece of rock! The guitar solo is sublime, the lyrics haunting and thought provoking. A classic for a reason. You are not doing yourself any favors by not listening to a songwriter (Ian Anderson) of exceptional skill and a band that is tight and skillful. I will never get tired of this song (or the album of the same name).

This was their first big hit and probably their most popular song. The entire subject matter of the song was a bit on the seedy side. But the music was tight and innovative. It was one of the first rock songs to have a flute in it.

Music is all very personal and I'm not sure why I'm being asked to review it. What I may love, another person will not, but I'm tired of seeing it on my "Review Purchases" screen, so I really love this song.

This is a song that I grew up with. I liked it then and I still like it today. I've had the 8-Track, the LP, and the cassette. Now I own a digital copy that goes well on my Ipod.
