5.0 out of 5 stars Aquamarine a Classic of Jazz Fusion, November 19, 2004
This review is from: Aquamarine (Audio CD)
This album is one of the great hidden gems of jazz fusion. It is intricate and funky, bright and colorful all at the same time. All the instrumenalists are virtuosos, and if you happen to be a drummer, you'll be in awe of the mastery of Danny Gottleib, who hails from the early incarnation of the Pat Metheny Group. Joining him is one of the truly great lineups of jazz soloists ever assembled, including John Abercrombie, Steve Khan, and Joe Satriani. It's no wonder this one is fetching a hefty price. I'm going to hang onto my aging cassette of this masterpiece like grim death!

5.0 out of 5 stars Masterful, January 16, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Aquamarine (Audio CD)
This is truly a musicians dream come true. A mixture of Jazz/Fusion that ranks right up there with Return to Forever and the Pat Metheny Group (ironically enough, Danny Gottlieb was an original member of the Pat Metheny group) to bring out a true masterpiece. Music is missing true musicianship like this. Joe Satriani plays on one track to boot. Very Cool!
