Well, just let me say something, this is one of the most special CDs that I have, because they're my favorite mexican band since I heard their catchy single "Niño Bomba", then I saw them live in a small club and their performance had all the vibe you could ask, they're also special because it's difficult that you can find the music variety found in this CD, from hip-hop, electronic, rock, bossa-nova, funk, it has all that cool sound!!!. Maybe you should give it a few listens to figure it out, I recommend that you listen to the tracks in order to get the full effect and contrast. My picks are "Niño Bomba", "Ode to Mauricio Garcés", "Bungaloo Punta Cometa" & "Banano's Bar" to name a few, hell!! I even wrote this review in english to give you all anglo people a chance to listen to VERY good music. BUY THIS!!

5.0 out of 5 stars a whole new sound and era in progressive music..., June 12, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Aquamosh (Audio CD)
The past few years have seen an explosion of talent in acid jazz/dub/ambient/trip hop music from Europe, and most especially from England (Massive Attack, Goldie, Portishead, Tricky), resulting in terms like the "Bristol" sound and other geographic designations to describe specific styles. With Plastilina Mosh, I think we get the first inklings that a new center of experimentation for the trip hop and acid jazz forms has taken root in Latin America, and most especially, in Mexico. Though largely unnoticed outside their own country, Plastilina Mosh and groups like them have been pushing the boundaries of these forms in cities such as Monterrey and the D.F., mixing English and Spanish to create a new language and deftly combining elements of jazz, hip hop, rap, dance, latin--even raunchy blues slide guitar (!)--to make a unique sound that redefines not only Mexican music, but world music as well. "Aquamosh" is not only an excellent introduction to the incredible range of these musicians, but in a more general sense, it is nothing less than the signal of a whole new sound and era in progressive music--it won't be long, I think, before the "Mexican sound" doesn't just apply to mariachis, boleros, and the punk and ska of 'roc en espanol.'

5.0 out of 5 stars Excelent album and misunderstud by some listeners., February 23, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Aquamosh (Audio CD)
This is a great album. For those who think Nino Bomba, Afroman and Monster Truck are THE best songs of this CD, I would recomend to go straigh to hip hop bands. PMosh isn't sticktly hip hop. Their style is far more varied, exclusive and more up-to date. To compare this band to Molotov is inappropriate.
