My iPod Shuffle (2nd generation) occasionally gets damp when I listen to it while running. After a while, the device started acting up (playback would stop even though no buttons were pressed). I suspected moisture might be the problem, and thought exposure to desicants just might help out. Sure enough, after receiving these desicant sachets and sealing the iPod in a small plastic bag with them, the problem went away. Still, the problem recurs now and then, but each time seems to go away after exposure to these desicants. So a small investment appears to be allowing me to squeeze more life out of a more expensive product.

It almost seems silly to buy something like this online when it comes free in so many items we buy. Nevertheless I needed something to keep any moisture that accumulated in an underwater camera case from hurting my camera, and I didn't have any of these laying around. These are not terribly priced and reasonably sized. They get the job done.

Throw these guys into your wateproof camera, phone,or kindle cover. They keep everything from steaming up when there's a change in temp or sun levels.

So, I dropped my phone in the toilet.

There were a few moments of shock, and a bit of wonder, that I had essentially dropped the phone straight into the middle of the toilet--"nothing but net" as they say in basketball. Complete and instant submersion.

Once the shock wore off, I immediately reached in and fished out my phone which, surprisingly, was still functioning. Fortunately, the water in the toilet was clean. Having heard cell phone+water horror stories before, I quickly took the battery out and took the phone apart and put the parts into a bag full of rice while I ordered the desiccant. There were definitely signs of water infiltration in the interior of the phone, and I was quite concerned..

Once they arrived, I swapped out the rice for two of the desiccant sachets, and let them sit in the sealed plastic bag for three more days...

After that time had passed I examined the phone thoroughly, and there were no signs of water so I tentatively placed the battery back in it and powered it up. To my great relief it was just fine, and has continued to operate with no trouble since!

Tried to avoid this minor cost with some tp. The aquapac is water tight so don't mess around. Took the pack out sailing with this in it on a sunny humid day and had zero issues with sticking to the phone-ness. just get them!

Nothing special, not unlike any desiccant. I threw one in a hot tub and it did not absorb all the water. I like that it changes color to show you when to replace it. (joking about the hot tub water by the way)

They are dessicants...not much else to say! I had not saved enough of them before going on a trip and needed some...quick shipping and inexpensive.

I bought these because their long narrow shape looked like it would pack in well along-aside my camera in a waterproof housing. However the 5 that arrived were very small and square - the same as what comes for free in boxes containing electronic gear. I also strongly doubt that the ones I received are going to change color.

I am very dissappointed that this seller charged me $5.02 for S&H when the product was $3.50 and shipping probably cost 60cents. I will not purchase from here again and be very observant of shipping charges in the future. It's easy to happen when you have items coming from multiple vendors.

I have twice responded that I never received this item although I paid for it. Therefore I cannot review it!
