5.0 out of 5 stars Works as advertised!, May 5, 2005

Waterproof cases are so expensive! (and heavy) We aren't divers, but spend lots of time outdoors in conditions hostile to electronics, skiing, hiking, fishing, at the beach, etc. In addition to water, dirty hands, sand, and dust are hazards.

This Aquapac performs as described, kept the camera (Canon A95) safe and dry despite immersion in swimming pool etc. The picture quality was unaffected, but flash doesn't work well due to internal reflections.

Well worth the price.

1.0 out of 5 stars $30 to destroy my camera..., June 13, 2007

I read the other review on here and thought, "Nah, he just had bad luck." All the other reviews I read were very good, so I thought I'd give this a try for my trip to Maui. I tested the bag exactly as the instructions said.. I even squeezed it a tiny bit to look for bubbles. Everything looked great, so I popped my actual camera in there and went snorkeling yesterday.

On the plus side, my pictures turned out amazing. I had no idea it would work so much better than those awful disposable waterproof cameras. I have several shots of swimming along side a sea turtle that may be poster-worthy.

On the down side, after about 30 minutes I got out of the ocean and noticed a small puddle of water was INSIDE the bag! My camera was still on and working, so I was hopeful. But by the time I was back inside the hotel, things started looking bad. It refused to turn on at all. After a thorough drying, it will now power on, but the lens doesn't seem to move and there is an error code displayed. It keeps flashing a message telling me to power the camera off/on again. Nothing works.

I did not dive down below the surface at all. This leakage happened just from snorkeling along the surface, holding the camera only 1-2 feet underwater.

I highly recommend AGAINST getting this not-so-waterproof camera bag. But at $240, I can't see buying Canon's official waterproof case either. Maybe there just isn't a good solution here. Don't sacrifice your camera like I did though.

Now, to call and try to get it replaced under the guarantee...

1.0 out of 5 stars BUYER BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY !!!, December 8, 2006
I bought another pack from this company (BeltPac), and while I did test the pack as described in the instructions, the pack leaked when I used it in the sea, destroying my phone and my mp3 player. I contacted Aquapac, as they claim to have a warranty if the pack if used apropriately, but they refused to refund me the pack or the content that was destroyed (MP3 player + phone).

BEWARE WHEN YOU BUY ON OF THESE PACKS: EVEN IF YOU FOLLOW ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS, THE PACK MAY LEAK AND THE COMPANY WILL REFUSE TO REFUND YOU.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!
