Awesome in a rainstorm,
This review is from: Aquapel Automotive Rain Repellent Glass Treatment 4 Pack (CD-ROM)
For some reason, our window wipers never seem to really clear up the windshield when it's raining. Perhaps we're not replacing our window wipers often enough, but still, the clarity in the windshield when using the wipers in a storm was never really good after the new blades were broken in.
I was a little hesitant trying this product on the windshield because I didn't want it to leave smudges or a visible residue. I'm happy to report that the application went on easy and I buffed it with a paper towel afterwards to remove any streaks. A couple days later, we had a microburst hit our area as we were driving, and the rain repellent was awesome. It was better than getting new window wiper blades by far. One of the applicators worked for the front windsheild, so we'll keep the others for later as I believe an application lasts up to 6 months. The only caution I would offer is to apply it in a well ventilated area. It did have a bit of a synthetic smell going on, but after it was dry, it was fine. Great product. Very happy with it.

Far better than Rain-X, but the prep is key,

This product works as well as Rain-X, but lasts much longer.
You do have to prepare the windshield for its application though. I use Dawn dishwashing detergent and then windex, to make sure that the windshield is clean of all contamination. For a garaged car, Aquapel lasts a year are more. For a non-covered car, it lasts about 6 months. This gets me through the rainy season here in Northern California.

I'm a glass engineer at a car factory. I use this stuff on my own car. 'nuff said?
Ok well, I'll throw in some more details. I only use it on my windshield because this stuff is kinda pricey! Also, Rain-X is supposedly bad for rubber (windshield wipers) so I've been Rain-X'ing the side and rear glass on my cars, and I use the Aquapel on the windshield. Talking to a PGW rep for my factory, he called the stuff "Rain-X on steroids" and I'm not sure about the steroids, but it's definitely great stuff! He also told me that his company actually puts Aquapel on the glass from the factory for some Lexus (RX I think?). I got a few samples from him, but after trying to use them several weeks later, I had either accidentally smashed them (they're very fragile) or they had dried up already. oh well, at least they were free. It's pretty cool to watch the little tiny water beads scoot up the windshield as you drive on the freeway!

Aquapel Works Well,
By
This review is from: Aquapel Automotive Rain Repellent Glass Treatment 4 Pack (CD-ROM)
Summary:
-Aquapel goes on easily with a one use applicator -It effectively functions for me about 6-8 months (Wisconsin) --Beads rain off the windshield w/out the use of wipers at highway speeds (45+ mph) -Makes scrapping ice and bugs off the windshield a little easier -One applicator treats a windshield (front or back) and 2 side windows (I use 2 applicators/car) I've used Aquapel for about 10 years, STP Vision Blade before that, and before that Rain-X. While all are good products, I like that Aquapel last a very long time and dries clearly. Aquapel is a polymer based treatment and Rain-X is silicon based. I like Vision Blade a bit better for application but they stopped making it years ago. I think Rain-X sheets rain off my windshield a bit more effectively than Aquapel during the first few days to a week after application but then diminishes after that; Aquapel fully functions about half a year. For those who haven't used a car window treatment, like Aquapel or Rain-X, it makes a HUGE difference in visibility. The "before and after" pictures they use to advertise the products are realistic. One note about applying Aquapel: your windshield HAS to be clean. I applied Aquapel on a friend's car, who normally uses Rain-X, and we found that the Aquapel didn't bond well to the windshield and was therefore not very effective. If you have a silicon based rain treatment on your windshield, strip it off before applying Aquapel.

Must have for your car.,

I have been using aquapel for years. It lasts about 6 months. This product is so good that I drive 70 MPH in heavy downpours without even using my wipers. The product works better when you are moving- the wind actually pushes the water off your windshield. The advantage of this product versus 'RainX' is that it does not leave a streaky residue after the product has ran its course. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Did not get what I ordered. The four pack came as a one pack plus three thrown in a zip lock bag. I called the folks at TPC Global Corp and they basically said tough %*#$ and blamed Amazon for using a picture that correctly matched the description. The 2-star rating is for TPC, not the product which I just put on...........

This is a great product. We used it on an all glass shower and could not be happier about the results.

This is a wonderful product. I have had it on my Subaru for 2 months now and it still beads off like the day I put it on. If I am going over 60mph I don't even need to use my wipers (and I seriously don't use them on the freeway.) I drive up to Snoqualmie Pass twice a week to go snowboarding, and commute to Seattle on a daily basis, and the car lives outside 24/7 but this product was definably worth the investment.

Put it on. Will put it on in another 6 months. After 2 years, my $18 investment will be all used up. Couldn't find anywhere saying you couldn't use both Aquapel and Rain-X, so I filled up the windshield washer fluid container with the Rain-X washer fluid. Now I have both. If Rain-X is so much better for lower speeds (below 40), then I have that too. Drove to work yesterday in the rain, at a high speed, without the wipers. Freaky.

The product works just as it is supposed to, the water goes off the windshield and it realley increases the visibility under heavy rain like the one we have in brazilian summers. I bought from this seller for the closed package of the picture, and I expected to have it just like that, I thought it would include some instructions and stuff. However, I received 4 aplicators in a white box, with no instructions at all. Would be nice if the seller sold the correct package as announced.
