AquaPlay’s lock, harbour, ferry and marina set contains will keep the children occupied for hours and hours! The amphibian car can drive from land into the canal over a slipway or on to the ferry and back into the canal. When regulating the water through pumping and by opening the lock gates, the vehicles can go in and out of the lock and by turning the paddle wheel the water moves the vehicles through the canals. Combine it with 503 or 512 to make two parts portable to bring on vacation! Of course you can combine it with all our other sets and extensions as well.

Yes, there are few instructions on how to assemble and the company could do a better job. That said I went back online and enlarged the image shown right here at amazon, which was sufficient to put all the parts in the right place. The joints are actually explained in a little picture insert -- easy. If I -- a female college grad with no handyman experience -- can do it in 30 min. so can you. Don't be put off by the first review. It's a really great toy and our six-year-old twins love it. They even helped with the assembly and placed the locks and the crane in the right places.

The AquaPlay toys have proven to be both entertaining and just plain cool! I purchased this, as well as an extra boat with two additional people. This system really does work the way it is described, and is surprisingly durable. With the turn of a small paddle, the water in the "canal" flows, moving the boats along with it. The set-up was pretty easy, despite the cryptic directions. Putting it together is a bit time consuming, though, so I would suggest doing some of the prep work prior to gifting. I was skeptical about the idea of a track assembly being water-tight, but it has yet to leak even slightly! That being said, this is NOT an indoor toy!

Down sides:
- This is a big toy and requires quite a bit of water.
- It sits on the ground, which makes it a bit inconvenient, as well as prone to being kicked or tripped over.
- The directions were nothing more than a single small diagram, which could easily be thrown away by accident. Luckily, the set up is fairly simple.
- It's a water toy... be prepared for things to get WET!

I definitely recommend this! My 3-year-old nephew and his friends absolutely love it!!

Seriously, i cant understand if someone has trouble putting this together. The connectors come with instructions, and if you do what it says its no problem at all. And on how to put the peaces together: there is a huge picture on the box, which we used as a reference.
I gave this to my godchild for his third birthday, and he loved it right away. I remember playing with one of those maybe 10 years ago and theyre still great.
Great toy!
