At first listen, I didn't really like "Aquarian Angel" all that much. I was hoping for something more upbeat and danceable.

Thankfully though, I gave it a second listen. I listened to it again in the car in rush-hour Phoenix traffic (which is always an awful experience). However, on this day, it was not stressing me out because Blue Six was playing. I've since listened to it a for few days now in the car and it's always very relaxing. It's very calming and soothing, without being cheesey.

This would be essential late night listening. It has a very cool, chillout, sexy, R&B vibe throughout. I'm really glad I gave this album a second chance!

Many artist cannot duplicate back to back great albums. This album is better than the first. Oh I love Aya's voice. My favorite track is Aquarian Angel sung by her. As I listen to this cd I could tell that Jay Denes poured his heart and soul into this one. Thank God for artist like Jay,Aya,Lisa and Katherine who make music from the heart and not selling out to pop music. Many artist want a record deal with the mega labels only to find out that the label will control everything you do including your sound.
Thank God for the Naked Music label who allows artist to truly be themselves and make beautiful music. I will always support artist like this. House and Electronica is the best and this cd is the best so far for 2007.

Yet again, another solid release from what i consider to be one of the best labels (Naked Music)out there. The combination of Aya, Lisa Shaw and Jay Denes make this album a must have!

Wow, I have been a Naked Music fan for some time now, and I am always excited when a new album is released. All you Blue Six fans know that it has been a while since the last release (beautiful tomorrow - an amazing album in it self) let me tell you, it has been well worth the wait!!! I find this album to be a true evolution to the previous albums, and with a level of sophistication not yet seen from Blue Six. The general experience is of an emotional rollercoaster, with loads of chill beats soft vocals and upbeat sounds. The instrumental on the album are off the charts with deep emotional saxophone and great guitar sounds. Off course I can not forget the vocals, Lisa, Aya and Katherine all shine in their own way and complement each other in the true beauty of their voices. All in all, I believe that this album will be a benchmark in the industry and regarded as a classic for many years down the road. I would highly recommend this album to anyone who loves MUSIC.

As a huge fan, I was quite impressed that it was a very laid back even more than the first album...thats not a bad thing either!. I am an avid jazz fan and I can sit back and listen to the mellow vibes and soothing voices that are on this album in the car or at work and relax. This CD is a nice relaxed follow up and this is not a dance trance album so don't waste your time however it is a winner !!

After a long 5 year wait, Jay D has blessed us again with his alter ego--BLUE Six--and has provided us with the melodic vibes comparable to the freshman CD he dropped 5 years ago, but BETTER!!!!!

I didn't think he could follow-up on the masterpiece from the first CD as it was a spiritual experience for me with cuts like...Music and Wine, and Pure--to quote from Pure "...like the NAPS in my hair keep it pure..." That is one hell of an analogy...And if you are Black, you know that naps are pure with no chemicals or relaxers... ha! ha! Ha!

JD, Bro, this CD is liken to that of Sade and her work throughout the years, but on another level... I know JD has been producing with Aya and Lisa Shaw on their latest CDs so he really hasn't been out of the game for 5 years, but man, Blue Six is the bomb...with the angelic voices of Aya, Lisa Shaw, and Catherine Russell, how could the formula from the first album not work AGAIN????? IT WORKS!!!!

I, too, have been jaded with pop music since the late 90s; and I, too, feel that it is empty an soulless.. but with the likes of Jazzanova, Rima, Chris Brann, and Naked-Music, etc. my interest and search in Good music is constantly being renewed, even if it may be considered underground.... i feel like i did in the 80s when REAL hip-hop first hit the scene. I mean I bought all the artists I could consume because the music and art form were FRESH, positive and unique!!

Thank you Jay D for renewing my faith that there is still "ART" in music as opposed to the corporate cut-out crap that's so pervasive and negative throughout our world... keep doing what you do brotha!!!!!! Feed me these POSITIVE VIBES.. I need more!!!!!!!

I personally was fascinated with the 1st CD and probably promoted it to others as much as a marketing company. This one sounds like some B side tracks from the first on and a few tracks from Aya's CD thrown in for filler. Its good if you don't have Aya's CD or the 1st Blue Six CD. If you do, you really needn't bother.

When I first listened to Aquarian Angel, I was trying to compare it to A Beautiful Tomorrow, but there is not much to compare. In fact you may be disappointed if that is what you are looking for. However, this album still probides a mellow, lounge-type selection of great music. You can definitely drown your mind into this album and get away to a place you want to go anytime and anyplace with this album. If you like the laid back drums and easy voices of lisa shaw, catherine russell, and aya; you will appreciate Aquarian Angel.

I was curious about how a follow-up to Beautiful Tomorrow could achieve relevance without sounding dated. Beautiful Tomorrow, in effect, I think was a vicitim of it's own success with the Naked Music sound in jeopardy of being "copy-catted" to death.

Aquarian Angel is the remedy. It's completely unique and exactly where sophisticated house needs to go next . . . Standout tracks include "Tropicalia" and "You Just Can't Stop" - the vocals and lyrics on the latter track are quite profound and delivered with just the right amount of heartache, wisdom, and soul by Catherine Russell. Stunning!

I am like one of the above reviewers. I had to give this CD a 2nd listen. I was expecting Beautiful Tomorrow Part II. At first I was disappointed, but now I appreciate the chillness and sexiness of it.
