Im a rock drummer who hits alot of rimshots, the band i play in plays some pretty high energy material, my kits pretty cheap, its a standard ludwig accent. the stock head is pretty junk the coating stuck to my sticks and then transfered to my tom heads...so i took that head off in about a week and slapped this on there, mines 14 inch, its extremely durable very sensitive to ghost notes, you could play jazz with this head and then over to some post hardcore or metal then to latin etc...all in all this head's made to last. im gonna buy another for my pdp piccolo snare, the stock is already losing its coating after 2 jams with my band.

I wanted to try something different for my snare-Batter head. I was tired of Remo and Remo just wasn't producing the sound i wanted. I like my snare to have a nice pop to it. I kind of looked around and since i had Aquarian Tom heads, i'd try looking into the Hi energy Heads. I read up on them, ordered and eventually got my Batter head within a couple days. The Hi Energy has a good tone to it, but the best tone is in the dead center due to its Controlled surface. The Head took a good beating and held up good, but then i came across Evans. Now, i want to take all my heads off and buy Evans. Don't get wrong, my Aquarians have been good heads(Toms and snare), but i think Evans Heads are what i have been looking for. Anyways, i ordered the Evans Dry Batter head for my batter, tuned it up and been loving it since then. It has a nice tone/pop to it. Overall, i do recommend this Aquarian head.
