5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent purchase!
I made this purchase after a trip to LA, where the water is not that great. I must say that this product is very well worth the money. My skin feels softer and the water pressure is consistent and efficient. The shower head offers a couple of different patterns and I was really impressed by the difference i noticed in 1.) steam 2.) water feel 3.) hair 4.) taste i had to...

1.0 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware
I have a feeling most of the positive reviews on here are from Sun Water employees, even the ones that say "real name."

So I noticed my skin would break out at my apartment, but not when I travelled. I figured out it was the chlorine...my skin hates it. So I bought the Culligan for about $30 and it did a great job, the filters just did not last very long...

I have a feeling most of the positive reviews on here are from Sun Water employees, even the ones that say "real name."

So I noticed my skin would break out at my apartment, but not when I travelled. I figured out it was the chlorine...my skin hates it. So I bought the Culligan for about $30 and it did a great job, the filters just did not last very long. Then I decided to try this one because I wanted to go a step better. It was a step in the wrong direction. And, after doing some research, I am confident this company is a scam. One, when you connect the filter you have to get rid of all the extra black carbon (the water comes out black at first). After a couple of minutes the water is clear, but a week later I was sill getting black stains on the bottom of my shower (can'be be good for my skin). So I did some more research and found this review:

My skin hated the acquasana filter (it might have made my water worse). It is not NSF certified (the Culligan is; as is the Sprite). There is a reason why Lowes and Home Depot don't carry this brand--it doesn't work and it is not NSF certified. You get the most for your money with the Sprite, which is what I have now. Wish I hadn't wasted my money on this. Oh, and now aquasana calls me every couple of weeks trying to sell me a new filter (I only purchased it a month ago).

...also, I haven't tried the Vitamin C filters, but I hear they are good too (probably have a higher filter cost than the Sprite):

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice shower filter system, December 29, 2007

This review is from: Aquasana Combo Pack #11 - AQ4105 Shower Filter System with Wand and an Extra Replacement Filter (Misc.)
The shower head is very nice - has a nice even spray with good power. I really love having the hose so that I can wash down the inside of the shower after cleaning. The only thing that poses a slight problem is because the filter holder hangs down it bumps up against the shower caddy I have hanging from the shower. However, I was able to still keep my shower caddy and have the shower filter system together by tipping the shower unit slightly forward which causes the water to spray a little higher than my previous shower head - which isn't ideal yet really isn't a problem either.

Honestly, if any manufacturer is the root cause of this problem it would be the companies that make the 1-piece shower units - not many shelves built in so I am forced to buy shower caddies that have to hang from the shower head!

Bottom line is that I'm very happy with the Aquasana Combo pack that I bought. Love the spray from the shower head and that the shower head has the hose option. In addition, really appreciated being able to buy a pack that had two filters - so I have a replacement in six months.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'M TOTALLY HOOKED, May 2, 2009
This review is from: Aquasana Combo Pack #11 - AQ4105 Shower Filter System with Wand and an Extra Replacement Filter (Misc.)
The water in our area is loaded with chlorine-like chemicals that make it very harsh. Have seen an instant difference in our hair & skin with Aquasana filter- can't believe how well shampoo foams up & how easily a comb glides through wet hair because it's not tangled with chemical build-up. Our skin is less dry too, & the shower steam doesn't smell like a chlorinated swimming pool any more. This filter has quickly become a necessity for me.
Wish I'd bought sooner, but was worried about possible plastic smell from the filter system mentioned by another reviewer- don't know what they were talking about, there is NO PLASTIC SMELL!

I am pleased with my filters. Works great and unbelievable, but my showers got even stronger then before. The kids like them too. Highly recommended.
