The Aquatopia looked exactly like pictured -- cute, and was very easy to use, for exactly 4 baths. It powered off automatically almost as soon as I took it out of the water. During our son's 5th bath, I noticed there was a small amount of water under the display window. I took it out of the water immediately, but it didn't power off like it had done previously. I followed by shaking it, as some reviewers here had described doing, but again it did not power off. It finally went off on its own after about five minutes.
At midnight the same day, in between our son's feedings, we were awakened by a loud, high-pitched sound from the Aquatopia. I knew something was wrong, but still held out hope this was just a signal that the battery needed to be changed. When I opened up the battery covers (there were two layers), I found tiny drops of water on top of the battery (bad sign). After I replaced the battey and put the Aquatopia back in the water, it did not turn itself back on again. It was obviously that the thermometer had short-circuited. When I looked under the back cover, I found rust had spread across the entire circuit board.
If we had kept the original packaging and warranty, we could have had it replaced. When we decide to buy another bath thermometer, we will stay away from Aquatopia.
One more thing - I hate paying for things that don't offer free shipping, but it was totally worth the additional shipping cost and more! I highly recommend it to anyone who is concerned with the temperature of the bath for their children.
Just save your money unless you don't mind to change it some months after your purchase!
What happens AFTER you're done in the tub is the problem and why I took three stars off the review. I tried drying it. I tried flipping it over. After the second night I used it, I started hearing a beeping coming from the bathroom and I went to investigate it. It would not stop beeping. Someone here posted that it thought it was in cold water so it is beeping because it thinks "the water is cold." There is no off switch so I literally had to muffle it in a towel and hope that it didn't wake my husband.

This is widely available thermometer for baby baths. It's nice that it shows Fahrenheit and Celsius temps every other reading and baby loves the fun colors and turtle shape. Read morePublished 11 minutes ago by MT

So glad I got this. When our bath fixtures were installed the sticker that tells you which sides are hot and cold were misplaced. That was ten years ago. Read morePublished 8 days ago by ReallyTrilli
I think it's accurate, but slow. It takes too long to adjust the right temperature; hence, you end up dumping and wasting water. ...not good, especially in California. Read morePublished 1 month ago by PGN
I really like that this thermometer checks the water temperature as frequently as it does. Very accurate.Published 1 month ago by JG926
