Cheap...,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Cheapest price on amazon. Works as specified. Only complaint is the plastic bracket that holds the membrane to the main metal bracket arrived broken. Couldn't be fixed with superglue so I guess I have to live without it.
This unit as of 02/10/09 is over twenty dollars cheaper even with shipping than any other place I have seen it advertised

Okay for the price, but you might need to buy appropriate sink attatchments.,

This review is from: Aqueon Coralife 05675 Pure-Flo II 24-Gallon Per Day 3 Stage System (Misc.)
We purchased this device to use for aquarium water. We currently have a 10 gallon and a 29 gallon, so a standard weekly 10% water change means we need about 4 gallons a week. (Just a heads up for what follows: my husband and I are really inept at anything related to household maintenance.)
Upon receiving the device, we found it does not "out of the box" hook up to our kitchen sink. We have a movable dishwasher and the attachment needed for that is not compatible with the attachment included. So we went to the sink in our half-bath, but the connector for the device was off from our faucet by about 1mm. So we went to the sink in our full bath and it finally fit. However, upon turning the water on with the machine attached the added pressure caused the fixture to leak. At this point we noticed the rubber washers that were included--they were not mentioned in the directors which simply said "attach adapter to sink" or shown in the accompanying picture. We added them to the ensemble as much as we could, but one part would not unscrew. It now leaked less, but still leaked. We ran it for several hours, but with the minor leak it took about 3 hrs to produce 3/4 of a gallon of usable water. (It could be the nature of us having low water pressure or the leak. ) Upon trying to unscrew the device to get the extra rubber washer in its proper place the piece of plastic cracked. We are now off to the hardware store to see if we can find a suitable attachment to replace it. Summary: device apparently works (we haven't tested the water for KH and GH yet), directions could be more detailed, and plastic faucet attachment breaks easily. Also, depending on your housing situation it might not be able to produce 24 gallons a day. |
