Cellist Giovanni Sollima, working with a talented ensemble in Palermo Italy and New York, manages to capture the essence of flying in these twelve pieces. An extra treat can be found in the final three tracks, where Robert Wilson reads text by Christopher Knowles to the accompaniment of Sollima's group. The occasional use of an electric guitar is the only flaw to be found in this glittering gem, though even this may simply be a prejuidice on my part.
