3.0 out of 5 stars good towel, waffle patterns work better
I bought these towels for use in a travel trailer. They dry you quickly and completely, but they tend to become odorous compared to the waffle weave micro fiber towels. They work well for dishes and hand towels, but for the shower and bath the waffle weave are more comfortable and dry better after use.

TCL (Guilford, CT USA) - See all my reviews
The Fabric:
* Lisse Crepe -- their original towel. Also the most substantial (heaviest and thickest) of the three versions Aquis offers (Lisse Crepe, Waffle, "Terry")
* Texture: very short pile, no visible loops. Not a fluffy towel.
* Slightly clingy, when drying yourself.
* A little static in the dryer (but not as much as their microfibre "terry" version)
* Very absorbent and lightweight.
* Dries fast
* Comes in many colours and sizes.

Unlike other membrane/spongy camping/outdoor towels:
* You CAN throw this is in the dryer.
* Feels closest to a real towel.
* Will not stiffen-up when dry.

Sizes and uses:
*Size XL is best as a bath towel, b/c you can coverup.
*Size L was the original hair/gym towel size -- longer and narrower. Good for a small child.
*Size M is good as a Hand Towel for when you have people over. It gets damp but not soggy and will still do its job of drying hands.

*Size S [shown here] is washcloth sized and is best used as a washcloth! The slightly clingy texture feels like it cleans out the pores well. This size is also good as a cleaning-up cloth for bathrooms and kitchen counters as it absorbs a lot of water and its clingy texture picks up dirt for its size.

For a softer fluffier version, look at Aquis' Diva Collection which uses their "Terry" weave.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great but really small, January 18, 2007

Guess I did not realize the measurements where washcloth size, so I ended up ordering the mediums, perfect for a spin class at the gym! Other than that great product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect cleaning cloth; serviceable washcloth, June 10, 2008

*Updated Review*

The washcloth is still a five-star product to me. But I have changed the way I use it.

It is fantastic as a cleaning cloth. A tiny bit of water and this cloth will make glass, counter, sink, etc. shine. I keep one at my kitchen sink and one hanging in the shower.

These days, I only use it to wash myself when I'm traveling. It's perfect for traveling and camping because it dries fast and it's very durable. But it's really not that great for washing myself, because the feeling is kind of unpleasant and it just doesn't hold a lot of lather compared to a thick cotton cloth.

To summarize: housework, yes; travel, yes; bathing at home, no.

*Original Review*

I use this washcloth every single time I bathe, home or travel. It cuts down on my laundry because it gets washed and dried every time I use it. This is possible with an ordinary cotton washcloth, but they take so long to dry that they are likely to grow mildew. Wring this thing out and it's almost completely dry. Hang it up for your next shower and it's dry in an hour or so. The hang-tag with snap is so convenient for hanging it on a shower rod or towel rod. If you have to wash and go, the mesh bag allows the last of the water to evaporate away as long as it's not crammed in the bottom of your luggage. I use this with a microfiber towel (which I wash once every few weeks) to cut my laundry in half.

I'm thinking of getting another to keep at the kitchen sink for washing dishes. Not only that, but I've used this for cleaning my bathroom counters. Get everything wet and soapy, scrub, then use this to wipe. Just keep wringing it out and pretty soon you're drying up the last of the water. It is very satisfying to use one cloth to clean and dry.

5.0 out of 5 stars handy purse towel for "women of a certain age", November 4, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Ok so I'm older than I used to be, and there's this global warming thing on, and you know it gets very hot in Texas. My face gets slick with sweat, not what I consider an attractive look. I found using kleenex leaves little bits of tissue behind, just like that disgustingly detailed toilet paper commercial so I pulled this little towel from the back of my closet and stuck it in my oversized purse. I pull it out to blot my face when necessary and bought a second one (and a 3rd one) so I can launder them and not go without. No little bits of tissue stuck to my face, no wet face, no worries.

Great little towel. Keep in mind that it is LITTLE, read the dimensions. Will work well over a long duration, as your only towel, just make sure to rinse it out and HANG it on something. If you just put it back in the little bag it comes in without hanging it, it will start to smell after a week or two :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great sports towel, June 15, 2010

This is the small sports towel to get. I use this towel at the gym in between sets to soak up any sweat from a hard work out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Most absorbant towel ever!, March 29, 2010
I love Aquis Microfiber Towels. I've been using them, everyday, since the early 1990's, when the only color was white and they were $20 each. I have really thick hair, that takes forever to blow-dry, but with the help of Aquis Towels, my hair is dry in no time. I've given these towels as gifts. One friend is a dog groomer and she bought several more to dry off the animals, quickly. Also if you have dyed hair, I'd recommend the darker colors towels, so that the dye doesn't show so much. Oh and one other thing, the band with a snap is great for hang drying the towel after use. I highly recommend Aquis Microfiber Towels. Aquis Microfiber Long Lisse Hair Towel 18 x 44

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, small kitchen hand-wipe towel!, December 17, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I use this in my kitchen.

I am always rinsing & drying my hands during food prep. My regular kitchen hand towels soon become saturated and ineffective. This towel just seems to absorb infinitely. Makes for quick rinse/quick dry!

I like it.
