2.0 out of 5 stars Bought based on reviews, DISSAPOINTED
The reviews are great, so my wonderful fiance bought me (us) this towel. I suppose it is absorbent and a good size, but it STICKS to our skin. It makes it very difficult to dry off. I don't use it anymore - she occasionally uses it for her hair. Not recommended for a comfortable bath towel.

This review is from: Aquis Adventure Microfiber Towel, Seafoam, Extra Large (29 x 55-Inches) (Health and Beauty)
I have several in my car, sports, beach and gym bags.

The Fabric:
* Lisse Crepe -- their original towel.
* Texture: very short pile, no visible loops.
* Slightly clingy, when drying yourself.
* A little static in the dryer (but not as much as their microfibre "terry" version)

* Comes in many colours and sizes.

Unlike other membrane/spongy camping/outdoor towels:
* You CAN throw this is in the dryer.
* Feels closest to a real towel.
* XL size covers up more for modesty.

Sizes and uses:
*Size XL is best as a bath towel, b/c you can coverup.
*Size L was the original hair/gym towel size -- longer and narrower. Good for a small child.
*Size M is good as a Hand Towel for when you have people over. It gets damp but not soggy and will still do its job of drying hands.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great towel for old and young and a free travel bag, April 9, 2007

I got into Aquis microfiber towels because my aged mother does not have the arm strength for big fat terry towels. I then bought some for myself because besides being light they absorb like crazy -- one swipe and you're dry. I decided to get one of the 'adventure' line because information was that they are like the dog-drying towels which are very like the lisse crepe ones. What I didn't realize was not only I buying a very nice towel, it comes in a very nice little nylon zippered bag, mesh on one side to facilitate drying. We're talking the sort of little bag you'd spend about $5 to buy from a travel gear catalog. I was thrilled to pieces. Also in keeping with the 'adventure'-travel theme, these towels have little tags on one corner that can be snapped back on themselves to form a loop to hang the towel from. Very handy for camping, meaningless but not annoying for home use. I like how the loop normally is just a long tag so that the loop does not tangle in the washer.

I purchased 2 of these to use in our Airstream Travel trailer. They are wonderful -- soft and they dry fast. Also a very nice color. They wash nicely and dry without any wrinkles. Microfiber towels sure have come a long way....these are expensive...but you get what you pay for.

Before purchasing the Aquis Adventure Microfiber Towel I read a lot of reviews about travel towels and many consumers complained that these towels, although they were compact and dried quickly, were too scratchy, stuck to your wet skin, and were not particularly comfortable to use. The Aquis Adventure Microfiber Towel seemed to get better reviews so I bought one and have been incredibly pleased with it. It has all of the positives and none of the negatives I read about. The towel is light, compact, and dries quickly. I washed the towel only once so far (when I first got it) and with only one washing it is soft and feels good on my skin. It dries my skin and hair quickly. I also used the towel to roll clothing (socks, t-shirts, etc.) that I had just washed in the sink to soak up excess water before I hung them up to dry. I bought the extra large size (29" x 55"). It folds into an accompanying mesh pouch, all of which measures 10" x 10" x 1" (depth). I highly recommend this product.

I dried two large dogs after their baths with this towel. It did a great job. It used to take several bath-size towels to get them to that level of dryness. This towel also washes very well and dries quickly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Microfiber towels, March 8, 2007
I needed a towel to use while away on business I do not like using the hotel towels because they are not big enough for me. I loved the microfiber towel it did not take up a lot of room and it dries quickly. I would tell a friend.

I purchased this towel for gym use after an older microfiber towel finally wore out after several years, and after a couple of months of use, it's been a very good purchase. It doesn't have the same loops one is used to from regular terry-cloth towels, but it's very, very soft and absorbant, and has been since the first time I used it. (The cleaning instructions say not to use fabric softener, and I don't.) It dries very quickly, so it's ideal for gym use. Unlike cotton towels, it doesn't get that nasty odor that sometimes happens. The size is extremely generous, but it also fits easily in a gym bag when folded. One probably wouldn't want to use it at home in place of regular terry-cloth towels, but you certainly could. It would also make a good purchase for college students in dorms, since it dries quickly, even when hanging.

I bought this for a backpacking trip and it worked well. Dried up quickly so I didn't have to worry about packing a wet towel (since wet towels smell when packed tight). This towel was a lot larger than I thought. For a backpacking trip I would recommend something smaller to reduce the weight on your back.

I like cotton a lot. I'm not ready for microfiber underwear.
But these towels are ideal for traveling - they're lightweight
and dry quickly. Great for vacations to the tropics, where cotton
can take a long time to dry. Pool owners will also find them valuable.
Also worth noting is that this particular towel is not the same
superfuzzy weave you may be used to from the smaller microfiber towels
(including Aquis's) that have become more common of late. Believe it or not, it feels something like suede. Thanks Aquis and Amazon for a great advance in towelage.

I bought this towel several years ago for a week-long volunteer work trip in Mexico. I wanted something that would be absorbant and dry quickly. It surpassed my expectations. Now it gets used spring, summer & fall for camping. My husband used to bring a thin terry cotton towel for camping until he saw how well my Aquis performed. We each have one and bought a third for our toddler daughter last summer. They pack small and dry almost instantly.
