4.0 out of 5 stars Lightweight and super absorbent
I have several in my car, sports, beach and gym bags.

3.0 out of 5 stars Bleeds in the wash
I purchased the gray towel. I washed it with my other towels and it bleed - PINK! I am very careful with my clothes and never came out with the pink load b/c of the red sock. I put this towel in, washed it in cold, and everything came out pink!

This review is from: Aquis Adventure Microfiber Towel, Large (19 x 39-Inches) (Health and Beauty)
I have several in my car, sports, beach and gym bags.

The Fabric:

* Lisse Crepe -- their original towel. Also the most substantial (heaviest and thickest) of the three versions Aquis offers (Lisse Crepe, Waffle, and "Terry")

* Texture: very short pile, no visible loops. Not a fluffy towel.

* Slightly clingy, when drying yourself.

* A little static in the dryer (but not as much as their microfibre "terry" version)

* Very absorbent and lightweight.

* Comes in many colours and sizes.

Unlike other membrane/spongy camping/outdoor towels:

* You CAN throw this is in the dryer.

* Feels closest to a real towel.

Sizes and uses:

*Size XL is best as a bath towel, b/c you can coverup. and is the size of a standard bath towel (not Bath/Beach sheet).

*Size L was the original hair/gym towel size -- longer and narrower. Good for a small child.

*Size M is good as a Hand Towel for when you have people over. It gets damp but not soggy and will still do its job of drying hands.

I have a stack of these (look out for them when Amazon/Aquis has promotions & in Friday sales) for when friends, family, their children & pets visit. They are lightweight and are perfect for travel, as a hair towel, and for small capacity washers.

Some of the darker colors bleed a little during the first few washes. They are completely colorfast after that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Compact, absorbant, dries fast!, May 22, 2007

I took this towel on a sailing trip and it was great--much better than a large cotton terrycloth towel.

Despite it's smallish size, it absorbs effectively (more than enough to dry you completely), then dries itself quickly so you can use it again.

The built in loop with a strong snap are a great bonus that let you attach it to rigging to dry without fear that the wind would blow it away (as it did with other people's towels).

It's small size made it fit effortlessly even in a small carry on bag.

I brought two towels, this one for drying off after ocean swimming, and an even smaller Aquis one for drying off after fresh water showers. Even the smaller one is enough to dry you thoroughly (and then dry itself quickly).

These are GREAT TOWELS FOR TRAVEL and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.

5.0 out of 5 stars Aquis Towel, July 3, 2007

I LOVE THIS TOWEL! I got the large (19x39) because I am a large girl. I swim 4 1/2 hours a day in a pool where the chlorine is never stable. It's a no-brainer that I have to shower after getting out of that pool. I had my doubts that a microfiber towel could/would absorb much, but it was guaranteed, so I bought one. It is wonderful. It absorbs almost all the water in my hair, dries my body totally and still has room to wrap around my neck an soak up the sweat while I'm doing other things. It is washable. I haven't put it in the dryer because it dries very fast anyway. If they weren't so much money I would replace all of my household towels with these. The snap is a bonus also. I can put it right onto a hook in one of the shower stalls and go off to swim and if it was damp, it is totally dry by the time I get back to it. I like the size. It comes with its own mesh pouch. It's just about perfect in my humble opinion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absorbent beyond belief, April 9, 2007

I bought one of these to squeege the water out of my past-shoulder-length hair. It works great! I gotta admit, it's just big enough for my head and I have a teeny little cranium so normal adults would probably prefer to buy the "extra large" size towel (which isn't really all that large.)

This review is from: Aquis Adventure Microfiber Towel, Large (19 x 39-Inches) (Health and Beauty)
I bought this towel to replace my well-worn and slightly undersized Coghlan camp towel (measured about 7 x 28in after much stretching and wringing, viscose rayon) which did well for me on a seven month backpacking trip. So far, I'm very pleased with my purchase.

For those who prefer "ultralight" minimalist traveling, a microfiber towel like this should be tops on your list. Still maintaining a small footpring in my pack, the size of this towel is a huge upgrade from my old one. With its 39" length, it wears like a bath towel and dries nearly as well. The microfiber material feels great against the skin and much, much better than my old viscose rayon towel. Packed into its storage bag, it takes up only about 8.5 x 8.5 x 0.6in of space in your pack. Now having tried out a number of different travel towels, I can quickly recommend this, along with any other microfiber towel (MSR, Sea-to-Summit). Another option for a cheap, ultralight towel would be to use one of those leather chamoises that are typically used for drying cars. They tend to be constructed of very soft material, can soak up large volumes of water and dry very quickly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic towel, December 23, 2007
By
I brought one of these towels for use in travel because of its compact size for packing and its efficiency in drying. I am not disappointed all all. The texture is a little dry on the skin but once you are used to how much pressure or how little to use in drying yourself it is very comfortable and works great.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good hair wrap, May 17, 2010

A nice light/thin absorbant towel to wrap my hair in while it dries. I prefer to use this towel to wrap my hair rather than one of my thick heavy cotton towels.

4.0 out of 5 stars not luxurious, November 18, 2009
This review is from: Aquis Adventure Microfiber Towel, Large (19 x 39-Inches) (Health and Beauty)
Think of stepping out of your shower and enveloping yourself in a super thick absorbent terry towel. Ahhhh...

This towel will NOT give you anything like that experience. It's like drying off with a piece of thin leather - sort of like a cheap piece of suede. It tends to roll up on you if you try and use it like a normal towel but works much better if you use a blotting action. So why did I give it a high 4 star rating? Because even though it doesn't feel like it's drying you off, it actually dries as well or better than a regular towel. And it's so thin it dries pretty quickly when hung up and dries super quick in the dryer. So for those applications like camping or sailing or even a teeny-weeny bathroom which doesn't have room for those huge Turkish towels it can come in very handy and it gets the job done. The snap hook at the end is very convenient for hanging on pegs. But no one will ever mistake it for luxury.

I got the grey and it bled in the wash. Make sure you wash with like colors. I also thought it might soften up after washing but it came out exactly as it went in.
