So much better than cotton,
By A Customer
This review is from: Aquis Microfiber Body Towel, Waffle, White (29 x 55-Inches) (Health and Beauty)
This towel is softer and more absorbent than cotton, even though it is less than half the thickness and weight of the cotton towels I used to use. It is so gentle on the skin, as it quickly absorbs moisture. Also great for hair. I have one of the regular weave Aquis towels, but prefer the waffle weave hands down. I wish it came in more colors.

Just as described!,

This is my first Microfiber towel. After reading the description I decided to order the most expensive towel I ever purchased. Four days later, I recieved it. Tried it out the same day and...WOW...it was worth the money spent. All the description about this towel above is correct. Weights nothing compares to a regular towel. Cuts my drying time in half (I have long, thick hair). Defenitely great for those who like to travel light and still have a full size towel. But why four stars? Lack of colors to choose from. Offer more hues and I'll definitely order more!

Great for thick, long hair,
This review is from: Aquis Microfiber Body Towel, Waffle, White (29 x 55-Inches) (Health and Beauty)
I have thick, curly hair down to my waist and this Aquis towel not only holds it all gently, it also cuts down my drying time by three hours. Even better, it doesn't make my curls frizzy the way a couple of other brands of microfiber towels have done, even ones without the waffle weave. Also, my Aquis was a real life-saver on a late summer road trip in New England. I was able to wash my hair right after dinner, when it was most convenient, and go to bed with dry hair thanks to this great towel.

This is a little different than I imagined it would be. You're not going to wipe it across your skin like a cotton towel, you pretty much have to blot the water off your skin - it will stick and drag across wet skin. Once most of the water is removed then you can "towel down" like you're probably used to. It does do a very good job it absorbing water and dries extremely fast. Its very light weight and even wet does not weigh anything like a wet cotton towel.
It makes a very good sports towel and I'll probably be taking one with me now when I travel after experiencing the "sandpaper" towels some motels have. I also purchased the pet towel to have a different color, the only difference is it's labeled as a "Pet Towel" but is exactly the same size and material. Overall I'm pleased with them and think their worth a try but will probably want to have a large cotton towel in my bathroom - I just like the feel of a good rub down with a plush towel after a shower.

I have several in my sports and gym bags.
The Fabric: * Waffle-weave microfibre. [Aquis' "SPA" line] * Texture: extremely short pile, no visible loops. * Clingy, when drying yourself. Not a fluffy towel. * Static in the dryer (but not as much as their microfibre "terry" version) * Very absorbent and lightweight. Thinner & weighs less than their original Lisse Crepe version. * Comes in 2 colours (white & Linen) and many sizes. Unlike other membrane/spongy camping/outdoor towels: * You CAN throw this is in the dryer. * Does not stiffen-up when dry, & does not need to be kept in a special container to keep moist. * XL size covers up more for modesty. Sizes and uses: *Size XL is best as a bath towel, b/c you can coverup. *Size L was the original hair/gym towel size -- longer and narrower. Good for a small child. *Size M is good as a Hand Towel for when you have people over. It gets damp but not soggy and will still do its job of drying hands. This towel is good for small capacity washers, for lightweight travel and excellent as a lightweight super abosorbent hair towel. I have a stack of them for guest visits in the summer but I would also like them in darker colors to hand out as boat/beach towels too. The only 2 available colors show stains too easily when used as beach towels. Aquis also makes a robe in this weave, which is lightweight and perfect for summer vacations along the NE.

I LOVE THIS TOWEL! Worth the money in my opinion,

This is now my favorite towel ever. All the other towels in my bath are being neglected. All you have to do is wrap this wonderful, soft towel around you and you are dry. The minute it touches your body it absorbs all the moisture. I am replacing all the towels in my house with Aquis microfiber towels...one by one. They dry so fast too- so they are always ready to use the next time. I think they cut down on laundry.

pros & cons,

Good for compact towel needs during travel or gym, but does not slide well along the skin (kind of grips you), which feels weird. Stains don't wash out so easily, and the towel will start losing shape with washings.

I love this towel. It doesn't leave lint. Its lightweight yet very sturdy. Its the perfect size. It dries quickly and feels good. If you have never used a microfiber towel before it will be a little strange at first but you will soon grow to love it. I will not go back to conventional bath towels ever!

This is the second Aquis Microfiber Body towel I have purchased. The waffle weave makes a huge difference. I had a plain microfiber towel and it just didn't feel like a towel. The Aquis towel has a real towel feel, dries me off great and then dries out quickly. I keep it in my gym locker and it's dry the next time I need it. In the summer, I use it after swimming in the morning and it's dry by the time I teach swimming in the afternoon. And it doesn't take up much room in my locker or gym bag. It would be great where I used to spend my summers in Michigan where it was tough to dry out the beach towels.

Very nice towel,
This review is from: Aquis Microfiber Body Towel, Waffle (29 x 55-Inches) (Health and Beauty)
I have several of the micronet towels, which I use as my regular towel. I got them mainly to save drying time associated with laundering, and in that regard they are great. They are however a very differnent towel as far as texture, look, and size go and it is quite noticeable.
The aquis waffle weave towel is much closer to a traditional bath towel, while still having some of the characteristics I was looking for regarding shortened dryer times. More importantly my wife doesn't always buy into my eco-concious moves and although she didn't say anything, the presence of a few regular towles in the bathroom means she wasn't sold on the micronets. She did however like the aquis towels and said it was much better then the micronets, which I will admit feel something like wet leather when used. The aquis wins on having a more traditional bath towel look and color, while taking up about 1/3 to 1/2 the space of a traditional towel. It also feels better to use then the micronet, again due to feeling more like a towel one is used to. That it is slightly higher priced is a draw back, but for at home use this towel would probably appeal to a broader base of users and may be worth the cost to have a towel everyone in the house would use. I do like the micronet and thinks it is still a nice towel and it will pack down to about a third of the size of the aquis towel and would be my choice for a travel towel if space is an issue. It also wins on price. Overall edge though to the aquis, you just have to pay for it. |
