About the Author

Moustafa M. Soliman is an Egyptian American resident of Washington, D.C. He attended Cairo University, and received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. Until recently, he managed the US Government energy collaboration with Middle Eastern countries, including Egypt, Israel, and the Palestinian Authority. His extensive travel, and frank one-on-one discussions with senior politicians as well as with the average man on the street give him a keen sense of the hopes and aspirations of the people of the region, and has inspired him to write this fiction. He is married to Lynn Skynear.

This book could not come at a better time. The way in which the author used his characters to represent so many factions involved in the Arab and Jewish orbit was so authentic. You could see the world through their eyes.
I would not only recommend this book to people interested in this topic, but it should be a mandatory read for high school and college students. He explains with great clarity the differences and similarities between two great Abrahamic religions. Bravo

This is a wonderful book! More a parable than novel, but the characters are endearing, the situations humorous and relevant, and the timing perfect. Written by someone who obviously has a sensitivity to all the sides in the conflicts in the Middle East. Everyone interested in a peaceful planet and the troubles in the Middle East should read this book and read it NOW!

I met the author at the unity walk in wash dc. As soon as I heard what the book was about a tear came to my eye. This book can be the spark that starts a peace movement. Fantastic and I learned a lot about both religions that I never knew.

Moustafa Soliman's powerful story about two unlikely friends, an American Orthodox Jew and a devout Palestinian Muslim, humanizes a long-standing intractable conflict that has wounded many lives. Through the two characters, David and Ali, the reader is able to see how true friendship can alter preconceived perceptions and stereotypes and show how we're all united in some way. An Arab, A Jew, and A Truck is just the beginning of a movement that will lead us to see how peace and understanding have the strength to overcome hatred. It is well worth reading this holiday season!

Completely unexpected story and characters. It's obvious this Egyptian born author understands the subtleties of his own culture, but he seamlessly expressed the subtleties of my Jewish heritage. The concept of hope is kicked around so easily that it's seems trite and yet that is exactly how I felt after reading this book. Hope. Sensitive, funny, informative. Simply put a good read.
Waiting for the Broadway play.
