5.0 out of 5 stars Arabian classics for belly dancing
The music is awesome just my type. My only complaint is the fair quality of the recording. It's not crisp and crystal clear like others I've ordered. Perhaps its the quality of this copy I received. I wish there was a better recording of this cd. John Lazarian

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but not great
**Update** Since I wrote this review years ago, the bellydance music scene has changed and comparatively speaking this CD is not as good as what is available. The sound quality is still OK, but not as good as what I have now come to expect. The songs are fun, but don't have a lot of variation. Many of them go directly into the next so you can't use just one of them...

**Update** Since I wrote this review years ago, the bellydance music scene has changed and comparatively speaking this CD is not as good as what is available. The sound quality is still OK, but not as good as what I have now come to expect. The songs are fun, but don't have a lot of variation. Many of them go directly into the next so you can't use just one of them. They're still pretty good for drills and practice but I honestly never use this music anymore. Because of this I have changed my rating from 5 stars down to 3. Below is my original review:

This CD is perfect for the dancer who needs to create a "set" with several different songs. They all have the same feel to them, but each song is different. Some are longer, some are shorter. Some are slower or have a taqsim, others are faster. Some songs are good to add a minute and half or so of a transition between songs. Some have different beginnings, endings, or bridges. So you can mix and match to create a really smooth set. The only thing it's missing is a drum solo. The music is lovely. I enjoy listening to it even when I'm not dancing.

Also, the first song is used on one of the Veena and Neena videos for the choreography. I can't remember which video it is, but it's one of the teaching ones, not the fitness ones, and it's not the veil piece. So it's either "Basic Dance" or "Beyond Basic Dance" so if you liked those songs and want to own them, you may like this CD.

I really enjoy this CD. It has some good choices to just enjoy or get your hip scarf on and shimmy to!
