Book Description

October 15, 2000
For more than a thousand years, Kasim al-Jinni has suffered a string of masters who used his jinni powers for their own selfish desires. Kasim has resigned himself to his deserved fate, for he failed young Prince Hajji and allowed evil to enslave the land of Zharinda. But when his new master Lindsey McCullough releases him from his magic jar, he discovers she has a kind heart. He longs to give her the one gift her miraculous, modern world cannot do— restore the use of her legs. After ten years in a wheelchair, the thought of being healed makes Lindsey nervous. Her overly critical parents have finally accepted that Lindsey will never achieve greatness like the rest of her family. She long ago abandoned dreams of love and family, taking solace in her own small, safe world.

When Kasim tricks Lindsey into wishing her injury healed, she meddles in his life¾ wishing him free of the curse that enslaves him. To her shock, her wish sweeps them both back to ancient Zharinda. Worse, Kasim has lost his jinni powers and can't return Lindsey to her own time unless he overthrows the malevolent power which holds the land in thrall.

Thrown into the heart of an Arabian adventure, Lindsey and Kasim are soon embroiled in magic, court intrigue, and a prophecy that promises Kasim to a lovely Sultana—despite the yearning he feels for Lindsey. He cannot change his fate, which has been written in the stars for more than a thousand years. He cannot abandon his homeland to the hand of evil. Yet Lindsey deserves a true Arabian Knight...

About the Author

I've always loved books. I first started writing books in second grade. My teacher discovered my first story, which was about a band of cute animals (hey, I was seven!) who follow a new road only to hit a dead-end. She suggested I read it to the class. Being the smallest, youngest, and shyest kid in class, that was like suggesting I go before a firing squad. So I let her read it.

I've since learned it's not so scary sharing my work with others. In fact, it's downright fun! In fact, after earning a journalism degree from the University of Oregon, I worked as a newspaper reporter, which gave me a solid foundation in grammar and writing on deadline. But putting people on the spot with tough, probing questions didn't mesh with my personality. Instead, I applied my writing skills in the crazy world of corporate/government public relations.

After more than a decade of writing for everyone but myself, I picked up Jude Deveraux's Knight in Shining Armor and fell in love with the romance genre. I devoured historical romances by the truck full (along with squeezing in a Dean Koontz or medical thriller here and there), then realized there were other wonderful types of romance, including contemporary, futuristic, and paranormal. In August 1999, I quit my day job as a corporate communicator to pursue fiction writing full time.

I live in the Pacific Northwest with my husband of 16 years and my son.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hard to Put Down, February 23, 2007
This review is from: Arabian Knight (Paperback)
This is the story of a wheelchair bound young woman who has her dream job of working in a museum and now she has been given the responsibility of arranging an exclusive Arabian exhibit...All her life, she struggled to achieve the greatness her brother and sister have but always seem to fall short and disappoint her parents and after a riding accident leaves her paralyzed they finally give up on her. Lindsey is lonely but is determined to be self sufficient. While cleaning a mysterious vessel she finds in the exhibit, a gorgeous male genie, Kasim, appears and offers her three wishes. Lindsey thinks he is an actor sent to go along with the exhibit until he performs a few impossible feats. Lindsey has never seen a more gorgeous male, but knows he would never be interested in her. Lindsey has a kind heart and sees the sadness in Kasim's eyes...she decides she will wish him free, she is too unselfish to use the wishes for herself.

Kasim has never been owned by such a kind master,he hopes she will wish herself healed. She is so beautiful he wishes he was worthy to be with her, but if she knew what he has had to do at the command of some of his masters, she would be horrified. Kasim was a mortal who was a teacher to a young prince, but was imprisoned as a genie when he failed to protect his young charge. When Kasim tricks Lindsey into wishing herself healed, she in turn wishes him free but they are transported to the time and land of his birth. It is revealed that an ancient prophecy says Kasim will come back and release the young prince and his country from evil with the help of his true love. A wise man Omar believes that true love must be Kasim's childhood sweetheart the now sultana who is married to the evil czar. When the sultana is revealed to be less than he thought Kasim must turn to Lindsey to fulfil the prophecy but will she accept him, he is a product of a brutal time.....will they admit their true feelings for each other or will fear of being rejected keep them apart.

When I first started reading this book, I was afraid it was going to be corny....a genie out of a bottle.? but it was suprisingly very, very good. Read it and you will agree.
