Hard to Put Down,
By msbooklady "msbooklady" (Biloxi, MS) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Arabian Knight (Paperback)
This is the story of a wheelchair bound young woman who has her dream job of working in a museum and now she has been given the responsibility of arranging an exclusive Arabian exhibit...All her life, she struggled to achieve the greatness her brother and sister have but always seem to fall short and disappoint her parents and after a riding accident leaves her paralyzed they finally give up on her. Lindsey is lonely but is determined to be self sufficient. While cleaning a mysterious vessel she finds in the exhibit, a gorgeous male genie, Kasim, appears and offers her three wishes. Lindsey thinks he is an actor sent to go along with the exhibit until he performs a few impossible feats. Lindsey has never seen a more gorgeous male, but knows he would never be interested in her. Lindsey has a kind heart and sees the sadness in Kasim's eyes...she decides she will wish him free, she is too unselfish to use the wishes for herself.
Kasim has never been owned by such a kind master,he hopes she will wish herself healed. She is so beautiful he wishes he was worthy to be with her, but if she knew what he has had to do at the command of some of his masters, she would be horrified. Kasim was a mortal who was a teacher to a young prince, but was imprisoned as a genie when he failed to protect his young charge. When Kasim tricks Lindsey into wishing herself healed, she in turn wishes him free but they are transported to the time and land of his birth. It is revealed that an ancient prophecy says Kasim will come back and release the young prince and his country from evil with the help of his true love. A wise man Omar believes that true love must be Kasim's childhood sweetheart the now sultana who is married to the evil czar. When the sultana is revealed to be less than he thought Kasim must turn to Lindsey to fulfil the prophecy but will she accept him, he is a product of a brutal time.....will they admit their true feelings for each other or will fear of being rejected keep them apart. When I first started reading this book, I was afraid it was going to be corny....a genie out of a bottle.? but it was suprisingly very, very good. Read it and you will agree.

Rotten cover artwork, but great book. Funny and enjoyable. It is light and the characters are believable. I hope she pens another like this.
