This review is from: Arabic First Names (Hardcover)
This book contains a good selection of Arabic names but it lacks Arabic script for the names or even a strict transliteration of Arabic since the book focuses on common Anglicized spellings of the names. The Arabic sounds that English doesn't have are represented by distinct letters in Classical Arabic and Modern Standard Arabic; unfortunately, unless one is already fully familiar with the triliteral roots from which the names are derived, it is difficult to tell if certain consonants are pharyngealized or not. Perhaps the next edition of this book or one like it will provide the names in Arabic script as well to help clarify certain issues for pronunciation's sake.

Ok, this is book is good if you are looking for the meanings of very basic Arabic names. I was looking for something different... a name that not everyone has... and this book did not help. But like I said, if you are not too picky this book is not too bad.
