Unlike the previous reviewer, I have lived in the Middle East, North Africa for over ten years and can vouch that a lot of this music is original - although filtered through the 'white man's' idea of world beat /trip/ambient/trance jingly poo...

A couple of tracks really stand out and make the album worth the money: Such as track #13: Sketches of Egypt by Zohar. This guy sings with such feeling that it gives me goosebumps. And one of the best bits of music I have EVER heard. Then track #6:Trance Dance. Just a sweet and smooth love ballad.

I dropped one star due to the excessive techno numbers - unecessary and distracting from the arabesque mystical music that surrounds them.

Check this out, together with the original Arabica. Music that can reach parts of the world not many other 'beers' can reach!

For a lover of north african music and of electronic music, this disc is practically perfect. The mixes compliment the songs perfectly. The techno parts aren't too techno to lose the arabic feel, and the tunes without a lot of electronic sound are gorgeous in their own right. My favorite tracks are 2, 3, 13 and 14. While all of the songs on this CD are beautiful, the middle tracks are a bit less distinctive. All in all, this is one of my favorite modern arabic music discs EVER.
