This review is from: Araceli Quinceanera Ice Pink Size 12 Formal Evening Dress Debutante Prom Ball Gown (Apparel)
This ARACELL QUINCEANERA ICE PINK SIZE 12 FORMAL EVENING DRESS DEBUTANTE PROM BALL GOWN is, to me, all that formal evening-wear should be. For any woman, of any age!
It is beautiful -- breathtakingly beautiful, in it's demure, (but never prudish), desigh. It is classic, glamourous, and feminine -- but not overly-sexy, or stodgy,
or flamboyant. For me, this design is JUST RIGHT!
It has a nice rounded neckline, which allows the full neck of the wearer to be shown, but is not decolte! It has the widest of straps, which appear not to be straps but which are, indeed, part of the design of the dress itself. It is NOT a strapless gown -- which are far, far too common these days. If a strapless gown does not fit EXACTLY on the bustline, it will always have the unfortunate appearance of always being dangerously close to falling off, (and I shudder to think that some gowns, today, are actually DESIGNED this way!) But THIS gown does not do this. It's wide straps allow for the wearer to relax, and for viewers of the person wearing the dress to think of ALL her attributes -- those of mind, heart, temperament and taletn. In rhia, it truly is a LIBERATED woman's ball-gown, for it does NOT, (as some other gowns do), bring first and foremost to the mind of many onlookers the idea that a "woman's place is in the BED." Nope -- THIS dress brings to mind ALL of the things that a woman -- or a any person -- can strive to be....
It is mentioned in the description of this dress that it is "ice pink matte satin and tulle." I take the description as accurate -- even though the photo, (probably through a trick of light), makes this dress look purple. Satin denotes a shiny fabric -- but of what is this particular satin made? There is, sadly, no description given...
The "floral embroidery throughout" is a definite plus. It may not be actual brocade, but it is the nearest thing to a brocade, and probably is a lighter-weight material because of it.
The short, almost transparent sleeves are a nice touch, as well.
One secret that I learnt in my one term at the John Robert Powers Modelling School
in Manhattan, was that the simplest clothing can look very expensive if IT FITS PERFECTLY. This ideal is all the more important in wedding dresses and other formal gowns. If this dress does not fit exactly, do NOT hesitate to take it to a dress-maker for alterations. A prom, debutante ball, or quince, happens only once in a lifetime. And a dress as beautiful as this one NEEDS to fit as well as possible, so that it, (and its wearer), can look as perfect as possible, on the big day!
