This review is from: Arachic Societies: Diversity and Complexity Across the Midcontinent (Hardcover)
Excellent read. Packed with good detailed information about Archaic societies. Includes information on areas that is hard to find like the upper midwest. I'm working on a research paper and this book has been well worth every penny. If you're intensely interested in North American Archaeology then this book on the fairly poorly understood time period is a must. Worth every penny and then some. Covers complex issues like the spacial vs. time relationship of the various periods, ie what was the middle archaic in Sothern Illinois for example might not have been the same in Northern Wisconsin. Also covers a lot of key factors that might be used to better define the various periods within the Archaic.
