1.0 out of 5 stars Nice board, lousy electronics, June 1, 2009
This review is from: Arachnid Cricket Pro 425 Soft-Tip Dart Game (Sports)
If you are looking for an ELECTRONIC dartboard, do not buy this. Almost every dart you throw will result in a stuck segment. Then you have to walk up to the board and jiggle the dart to unfreeze the game and collect your points. This throws off any momentum or continuity that you might want to keep by staying at the line. Occasionally the board also freezes after bullseyes for no reason at all and you have to reset the game. The game selection is fairly poor, the options are convoluted and require constant manual referencing, and the display is tiny and has poor contrast. There is no handicapping feature or statistic tracking, no matter what the description says.
The upside: if you leave the electronics off and keep score by hand you will be happier. There are very few bounce-outs, like almost none. Also, this is the least expensive 15.5" American style dartboard I've found. Any Cricket Pro less than version 425 will have the 13" International style board, which is not what you typically play on at the bar. The only other 15.5" for a cheap pricew is the Arachnid Hot Shot, but from the pictures I've seen to has significantly thicker borders, resulting in more bounce-outs.
I gave this just one star because of the price. For $30 or so I would be okay if the electronics didn't work, but for $90 I'd hope for something a little better. Also, my particular board was assembled backwards when it comes to colors campared to what the box shows, stock pictures, and generally accepted official layout of a red and black dartboard.

2.0 out of 5 stars Descent board, terrible display, July 7, 2007

My only complaint about the dart board itself is the bull. It spins after you hit it. Whoever designed this board obviously does not play or they would know how distracting that is. Otherwise the board is fine as long as you use quality reinforced tips. My primary complaint is the display. It is so small that you can't see what numbers you need while at the line during a game of cricket. This is particularly problematic since the board does not give you any feedback when your dart strikes the board unless you hit a double or triple. If you have to walk up to the board before throwing all your darts, then your aim and concentration is disrupted. If you play a lot of darts, go with the CricketPro 800 instead. It is a lot more money, but worth it for serious dart players.
